Tell me your view on lava, what it's useful for in battle and it's strengths and weaknesses. Also mention to me Kurotsuchi's version of Lava, being quicklime, and a little bit about her use of hot lava in the Anime/manga (as a hint, it's slightly different to the way Mei uses Lava).
Just to not right out, Lava is neutral to water now, it used to be weak or even double weak once upon a time... Also, do you know how it compares to Dark release?

Lava is, in RL, what's found really deep inside the ground and it comes to the surface through erupting volcanoes where it's thrown to the surface to cool down and give us, humans, some good minerals from the depths of earth.
Lava ,in NV, is a advanced elemental chakra type which is made by combining the earth chakra and fire chakra both used as source of the nature. Similar to steel release in the elements, but steel uses fire chakra as manipulation to earth not as a source of extreme heat that melts the rocks creating lava.
Kurotsuchi's version of Lava release, AKA quicklime, is one of the mainstream versions of lava release in Iwagakure (as shown when they were attacking the Juubi, there was a shit load of Iwa ninja using quicklime). It creates a sticky substance which can be turned to cement if used with the correct suiton jutsu.
Actually, I searched the Naruto wikia today and found nothing about Kurotsuchi using any kind of hot lava jutsus, only quicklime. If the naruto wikia and me are wrong please enlighten me with your lava-ing knowledge.
According to weaknesses/strengths thread the absorption ability of dark release mentioned nothing about lava but I'll assume that Lava suffers double strength since it would be the same as earth release. The releasing ability of dark release is mentioned to be weak to Lava release.

That is the point xD She used a form of Lava release where she caused an eruption of the earth below, sending boulders flying up into the air, she then jumped from boulder to boulder (as they are airborne) using a fire-stream jutsu to set them alight and turn them into a sort of lava. That is how she achieved hot lava jutsu per say... Something that is no longer in the Lava release jutsu list, but is not instead in the Earth release list (Came with the recent update);

If you've finished Earth, you already 'know' this jutsu... if not, we're going to go through it later on anyway xD
I once thought the same, but it turns out that it is in fact... Neutral! If it's not written, you can assume that it is neutral, same with the CE's; if it's not states in strengths or weakness, it is assumed neutral. With the exception of the Released form of dark release, thanks to the Earth aspect of Lava.
Any questions or comments on this before we continue?

Lava version of the Earth jutsu... Earth Technique O__O' Channel your lave chakra into a certain spot, melting the target area enough to create a construct of lava that will rise up, under the control of your chakra. You can't use this to create a sudden eruption like that of an earth spike, translating this to be a not-so-fast but not-so-slow jutsu.
You can also spit out lava from your mouth, forming the lava at the point the chakra leaves your mouth... unless you are Mei and unaffected by your own lava, in which case you need less care when throwing up lava.
If you were to make a wall, and a Neutral water jutsu strikes it, what do you think would happen?

I start gathering my fire chakra and earth chakra in the ground two meters in front of me then I start mixing them together creating the lava chakra which I then release from the ground and using shape manipulation to shape the released lava chakra as a two meters tall pillar of lava that rises as if it was water, not so fast or so slow. moving on to the next version of this jutsu, I start gathering amount of earth and fire chakra inside my mouth cavity and I start releasing it throughout my mouth and once the chakra natures exits my mouth I start mixing them together turning the released fire and earth to a globe of Lava that proceeds towards an old tree trunk and sets it on fire
I think the water chakra would neutralize the lava chakra and cool down the lava wall turning it to a normal wall of stone that has no chakra in it

Spot on. Therefore leaving you with a physical obstruction if it's a wall, or a more solid piece of earth for jutsu such as split palm thingy... the one were the earth spirals in and crushes your target...
Also, quite a lot of steam (no chakra) is released, meaning a brief blanket of cover no matter the lava source.
Oh.... no Rubber Rope for you... onto B-ranks O__O'

Description: The user will make two handseals (Boar+Tiger) and focus his chakra into the ground, manipulating it and controlling it into forming clones that will rise near them. The clones are made of Lava though indistinguishable from the user like all other clones. If hit, the clones will disperse into hot molten Lava and injure whatever is touching them. Capable of using Earth, Fire and Lava techniques, the clones have a duration limit, unlike other clones. As time passes, the lava becomes colder and colder, slowly hardening until the clone is left as a crumbling rock.
Note: Follows normal clone rules and guidelines.

These clones are created from a lava source (created with the jutsu) near you. Basically you heat up however many spots (up to four at a time following clone rules etc) using your lava chakra (within short-range of you) and manipulate the formed lava into a perfect clone. The lava spot is used up in the creation of the clone. These clones can use Earth, Fire and Lava jutsu... though I'd say only up to B-rank as that is the rank of this jutsu (following other elemental clone jutsu as a guideline).
Similar to when you hit a rock clone with freeform, it's going to hurt... however, if you touch these clones with any non-elemental jutsu that would offer proper protection, using appropriate ranks and such, you would be severely burned and suffer damage... the clone would splatter lava and collapse into the ground of course.
Perform and discuss anything about this jutsu that you would like to know about, or just any general points about it.
I start by using Youton no jutsu to create a lava source beside me before I start gathering more lava chakra while performing the Boar+Tiger handseals. as I finish performing the handseals I send the gathered lava chakra to the lava source beside and release it. by using shape manipulation I shape the released lava chakra as an identical copy of me with the same face, body and clothes but it differs in body temperature and weight.
this kind of elemental clone has many advantages, such as:
1) able to use three kind of chakra natures up to B-rank
2) if touched without protection will cause burns
however, it still have its disadvantages, such as:
1) with each turn passing it will get cooler and cooler till it completely cools down after five turns turning into a rock statue that will crumble easily.
2) requires a lava source to be made
this kind of elemental clone has many advantages, such as:
1) able to use three kind of chakra natures up to B-rank
2) if touched without protection will cause burns
however, it still have its disadvantages, such as:
1) with each turn passing it will get cooler and cooler till it completely cools down after five turns turning into a rock statue that will crumble easily.

It doesn't require a lava source per say, you are creating the lava with the jutsu. That being said, if there is already an area near you that has been turned to lava, or has exposed lava... then it will speed up the creation just that little bit extra.
Charge your lava chakra into your preferred foot, before stomping the ground and releasing your lava chakra to convert a portion of the earth into four globules of lava. Each globe is the size of a large fist that you can control by releasing a stream of chakra to keep them heated and floating in the air, using them to intercept taijutsu attacks and to just keep people away from you. These orbs will orbit around you at a steady rate until you will them to intercept a target, and without constant chakra, will fall to the ground and turn to stone... meaning this jutsu will take up one of your jutsu slots if you intend to use it to attack/defend on any given turn; note that it will still drain your chakra and you are limited to fire, earth and lava jutsu throughout the duration of this jutsu.
Discuss. (means more than a tiny list of advantages/disadvantages).
Also, how could this jutsu be detrimental to you and your ally? I want a creative answer...

Description: A technique that is used to protect the user from small incoming attacks or taijutsu. The user will kick the ground, releasing a burst of chakra into it which in return makes 4 orbs of lava, the size of fists, to rise from the ground. By fueling the technique with a steady stream of chakra, the user keeps the orbs rotating and moving around him to protect him from incoming attacks. However, the orbs are dependent on the user's input and conscious control to act and defend. The orbs are incredibly hot and thus damaging to the touch.
Note: Lasts up to 3 turns per use; while active, the user can only use Earth, Fire and Lava elements.
