Sage mode last for 4 turns.After 4 turns you are left exhausted and virtually vulnerable to any attack.So if you have to use Sage mode then you must finish the fight in three or four turns.

Well its good for both close range combat and mid-long range as well.In close combat the user is granted a great advantage over his opponent since once you master Sage mode you can use Natural energy to give you bigger reach on your tajutsu.As for mid and long we have a wide arsenal of jutsus...energy blasts,the ability to change the shape of the Energy and use it to attack and so on.
