He added another layer to the story. I don't see any problem with that.

I disagree. Out of every major villain this war, i think Madara was the lamest.
Played around way too much for me to be able to take him seriously. At least Obito gave me a satisfactory sense of danger (maybe because he achieved a new spike of power never before seen and unknown at the time he became Jinchuuriki) and with Kaguya i know there's nothing above her level, so there's this sense of climax which Madara also failed to deliver.

I'm pretty sure he planned what to do with Madara a long time ago >_>

Hardly. Madara was introduced at chapter 560, we didnt know his connection to Obito until 40 chapters later. Then another 20 for his backstory.
