Actually yes, the instance with Nagato was also stupid as he used a book to change Nagato.
That was the moment when the manga has decreased in writing quality.
Nagato killed his sensei and his master not to mention the majority of the village and left it in ruins.
If Nagato didn't resurrect everyone back to life then Naruto would have stupid back then too.

Naruto is always the only person who can ever actually “do” anything right. Some random kid pretending to be Madara tries to talk sense into Nagato? Brain washed! Nagato’s teacher tries to talk sense into his student? lol die! Naruto tries to talk sense into Nagato? Time to convert! ! Obito’s friend & his teacher try to talk sense into him? lol die! Naruto tries to talk sense into Obito? Time to convert! Hashirama tries to encourage the masses? lol, who is he anyway? Naruto tries to encourage the masses? Everyone goes for it! Tens of thousands of people die? Who cares! Naruto’s friend dies? Suddenly everyone wants to fight! Those healers and medics want to help people? Naw. Naruto can do it all! Nobody in this manga except for a scarce few have any agency of their own any longer.

Those are arguable in my eyes. Sasuke's hatred, Lee's determination, Itachis loyalty and Hinata's love are all far more realistic than Naruto idolizing someone like ObitBITO! Like ****, do you even remember everything he's done???


Not to mention Itachi, Lee, and Hinata are side characters, so their personalities would obviously be less fleshed out

Yes but it's not like he's being saved. Obito is dead, Naruto knew that he couldn't save him, so expressing what he thought of the real Obito in his final moments is not a terrible thing. Crimes or not, Obito would never return to the village, never see family again, never be accepted, so what Naruto said helped him become Kid Obito again and be freed.

The fact that Naruto is completely incapable of comprehending the scale of Obito's crime in the past makes him a pathetic character. I lost all the respect for Naruto after this chapter. I wouldn't call it close, but he still saw the Sasuke he knew before even though Sasuke wanted to destroy the village. Attacked the Kage summit and... and... killed Samurai fodder and... and.. tried to kill Kakashi and... and Sakura??

Kindness and ability to forgive is virtue, what Naruto does is plain ignorance. Naruto refuses to look at past events, as if they never happened. Criminals get punished for their crime, that is justice. Naruto character is not only ridiculous, it's almost impossible to believe that such an ignorant person can exist. If Obito had no reason for doing this and wasn't manipulated this would be understandable, that wasn't the case though. Obito himself knew he needed to be punished and sacrificed himself.

Naruto as a character is actually much worse than Sakura. I used to put Naruto on the level of Sakura, but calling Obito 'coolest guy' made him go a notch higher as a worse character
