I think it's a bit much to say Itachi was the smartest in the manga. He was the best at planning ahead, not during battle imo.

Figuring out strategies against people who shut off their vision and against destroying CT after never seeing it before?
Not to mention everytime he fought someone, he found their weakness with ease and quickly.

Use a clone in order to find out about his techniques, when Obito touches him, the body bursts into few dozens of crows and Itachi turns physical into any of the crows(much like a kunai from ftg) and amaterasu' his ass or at the very least find out about his Kamui.

But that wouldn't be necessary as Tsukuyomi would be sufficient to get Kurama under his control and make Obito retreat like a biatch.

Not to mention he would take his Susanoo out(the 3rd mangekyo power, which Obito didnt awaken because he wasnt strong enough) and be able to combat Kurama on his own, but since Tsukyomi is a superior genjutsu than Obito's 3-tomoe genjutsu, just controling Kurama to attack Obito would be enough haha.

I know exactly what that scan is. However I don't see how that proves in any way that Itachi > Minato since Itachi already knew a few things about Tobi before he died, while Minato faced him for the "first time" back then.
