It's nearly impossible for the draft to happened again number one you need an agreement of the draft. Our Government can barely vote tax breaks. That point being said We had a scare during Vietnam because of communism and we needed to control other states so we could trade with them. Which is the most important part of capitalism. If their markets become closed our market would fall apart. That being said we have no more worry of a draft because our military also has huge benefits for going into it. Back then there was barely any incentives to fight. But now we have free college education, health care, homes, living on bases, loans, and many more. We actually have a surplus. Plus our technology is increasing also like drones (ground drones) which means less boots on the ground. Also fun fact even if you were drafted doesn't mean you would be ground soldier. That is actually the small percentage of our military. I hope I made you feel better (source college student)

I would agree with you entirely, but it's Russia. So many different things could go wrong. A draft would definitely be a last minute sort of.. "trump card". (if it happened)​

Wouldn't work learned it in law thy do background checks and that's only if they accept your application it's called conscious objector u have to show so much proof and u would still be used for army usage like driving etc but also face harsh treatment from many other soldiers a guy made a documentary on it

I kind of understand what you're saying when you say the military is different, such as it being more beneficial to join. And I understand more funds are pumped into our military, more than ever actually.. but Russia is a very powerful country. Perhaps one of the strongest..? If any country could push America to their limits, it would be Russia or China.​

On a serious note, I doubt they would fall on that option. Obama has been questioned numerous times, and a draft would let everyone who already isn't fond of him, off their leash. To be honest, I feel like it would start more of a civil war, rather than supplying forces for the one occuring over seas.

I mean the only senerio I see that Russia does attack us which I mean does is by attacking us in our own country. But think about that.... How far away is that. Also you need to add up the ability a nation is able to get into america and hit us hard with force without being detected through the whole air space. (including other countries). Russia's black navy is actually weak because it doesnt have a huge force. If we were right be side Russia yeah we would have to worry but that huge body of water is actually our greatest defense.
