And it makes sense to me now, that it would be logical to defend with a wind attack, rather than a defensive one. Sorry about that.

It's ok. Where did you lose the names? xD Yes, those would work just fine. They would overpower the lightning technique and continue at the opponent, forcing him to defend. Well done.

You simply gather your lightning chakra in your hand and slam your hand onto the ground. As you do so, you release the chakra in a burst and using shape manipulation shape it into a surge that will use the ground as a medium to travel towards your opponent in order to shock him.

Concentrating, I begin molding together my spiritual and physical energy, creating the chakra. As I feel the static feeling move throughout my chakra, I know I have succeeded so far. Storing this chakra into my hand, I take a deep breath before raising my arm into the air, then slamming my hand to the ground with brute force. As my hand makes contact with the ground, I let my chakra burst out, and then take shape. I watch, as my hand is pushed to the crumbled earth, as the lightning crawls across the ground with jagged movements.

Chihaya then dusts herself off, plopping down on the ground, sitting with her legs criss-cross.

"When using this, I'd need to make sure that none of my allies are standing in the path that the lightning travels on." Chihaya says, like always, putting others ahead of herself.

"On the other hand, I see this as a good attack. Even though the small chakra cost is a plus, the short range is a minus."

Hmm, also, does the lightning only travel in one direction, or does it spread out all around the user? >.>'

Well done. Yes, you should definitely be careful where you're directing it. If it was able to spread out all around you then your allies wouldn't be safe at all. Fortunately, this is an ally-safe jutsu because it travels mainly in the direction where you direct it at but it can spread a bit from its original path. And also, very good assumption about the jagged movements. Typical for lightning it would follow a zig-zag pattern as it's carving the ground while racing at the opponent.

Description: The user moves his palm unleashing a wave of lightning bolts at the opponent.

Simple techniques like this one are perfect for taijutsu battles. With the ability to paralyze and cause muscle numbness, lighting is the perfect element for hand to hand combat. Since this jutsu doesn't require handseals but rather a swing with your arm, it can be extremely easy to perform it in a swift motion and without losing too much time, timeframe-wise.

Nodding my head, I turn away and hold my hands up in a fight position, as if I'd be fighting a hand-to-hand combat. I then begin molding my spiritual and physical energy together, in which I've gotten the hang of. Once I've felt the familiar static feeling throughout my chakra, I got prepared to do the technique. Envisioning what my attack would already look like, I took a step forward swinging my arm out. As I did this, I opened my palm. Seeing I had stored my energy into my hand, I wasn't surprised when the powerful force came out. As my palm faced outwards towards my invisible opponent a nice surge/wave of unpredictable lightning burst out.

In my opinion, this technique has many advantages. Short mana cost, you can perform it quickly in the time of need, no handseals = not much time taken up, as you said muscle numbness and paralysis would be superb in a hand-to-hand battle, or any battle really.

And disadvantages would probably be, someone who has a lot of range from where you are. That way, you can't really hit them with the technique, unless you find a way to get closer or they decide to come closer. Or what if the person used a wind jutsu of some sort, would that cause paralysis to not affect them? Cause it's strong against lightning.

And maybe it would be a cool combo, if you used your speed you can get from lightning, and appear behind/around the opponent, then burst him with this attack to paralyze him.

Depends on the wind technique and the way its used. If its used to render the lightning useless then nothing would really happen to him so no paralysis etc. But a wind technique wouldn't really be of much help if the opponent was already hit and feels teh effects of paralysis. Also, there's something cool about lightning. All it needs is basically a medium to travel through so you can always use basic weapons with strings attached to them and then run the lightning through them. This can be immensely useful and I tend to use this type of combination quite a lot. The medium basically acts as a range extender which lets you run the technique farther than what its description states.

Description: After performing the required hand seals Tiger → Snake → Dog the user creates an electric current from their hand that can hit multiple individuals at the same time. Furthermore, it extends into incredible distances and can avoid obstacles.

Alright, C ranks. Now, you won't need to be so detailed about creating chakra anymore. I usually force it through the D ranks so that the person gets the grip of it. Now it will suffice to say that you gather your elemental chakra and then describe how you create the technique. However, if you so desire, I won't prevent you from being detailed as much as you want.

For this technique, other than the obvious handseals, you basically raise your hand to, kinda, direct the current at the opponent. It is one of the best low rank techniques because of its long range reach and ability to jump obstacles. On top of that it can hit multiple individuals but this requires more focus which translates into less power for each current and target that you're targeting. The only disadvantage is the number of handseals but with such a good technique, a bit heavier restriction was a must and luckily you can avoid that restriction by having lightning as your primary affinity.

Shaking out my muscles, I get ready. Facing two big trees, I quickly form the handseals as my sensei noted. Tiger, Snake then Dog. As I formed the handseals, I noticed the sweat that covered my hands. After creating the handseals, I begin gathering my chakra. Feeling the, now familiar, static feeling rush through my chakra, I raise my hand. In my mind, I hear a loud thunder noise, crashing through my thoughts. As the thunder boomed throughout my head, the contained chakra burst from my hand. Digging my heel into the ground, I made sure to anchor myself to the ground, as I expected the attack to be rather powerful. My hand directed the attack towards the two big trees. The jagged lightning crashed into one of the trees. Focusing hard, I tried my best to direct the lightning to hit the other tree as well. As the lightning managed to shoot to the neighboring tree, I felt the power in the current lessen. The tree that had been hit first, was more destroyed than the second tree. After a minute of breathing, I dropped my hand down to my side. The tree's were smoking due to the lightning, and while I had the time, I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

So, for each opponent the lightning jumps to, the less damage it does to the targets? Righhht? The one it originally hits would take more damage than the ones the lightning jumps to? Or do they all take the same damage?

You answered your own question with another question. xD They split before hitting anything, so their power splits initially as well. Though that's a good idea. It would be amazing if it could work as you envisioned. Still, the sad reality doesn't allow us to have good things.

Damage Points: 30 (+10 to a water technique when used in conjunction)
Description: This jutsu allows the user to create a wave of electricity from the user's hands. This jutsu can vary in power from a small surge to shock an opponent to a powerful stream of lightning capable of ripping through solid rock. It is ideal to use in conjunction with a water jutsu.

Another rather simple technique. However, this one is more dependant on other techniques and doesn't really have great potential on its own. So basically, as we already said, when you have a medium your techniques can go further and this is the prime example, using water as the medium. Without the medium, it can only go up to short range from you, which is roughly 5m, while in the combo its distance depends on the water technique. So for example, if you use the water beast which can go up to mid range, and send the lightning into it, you get an electrocuted beast made of water. Simple as that. If you don't know any water techniques, I'll create one for you.

Fine. Barney scratches his head a bit, trying to think of a jutsu that would fit nicely in the combo and not get him hurt, because truth be told, she is still practicing and you can never be safe enough. A water blast was an obvious choice. Barney molded his spiritual and physical energies into chakra without the need of handseals due to his mastery and due to the jutsu being very simple. Afterwards he used nature transformation in order to transform that chakra into water chakra which he later on channeled into his mouth and using shape manipulation expelled a fairly sized water bullet at the nearby tree.

Trying to understand how to exactly do this, my spiritual and physical energy are already molded. Then, quickly before I missed my chance to affect his water technique, I held out my hand, that way my palm was facing the water bullet. As I feel the static feeling rush throughout my chakra, I let out a tense and deep breath I'd been holding in. Then, out comes a thrashing strike of lightning, which buzzes rapidly. And just in time, It finds it's way to the water bullet and stabs into the liquid. As the lightning rampages inside of the water, the bullet pierces into the tree, creating a sized hole as big as the bullet. A bit of lightning surges throughout the destroyed parts of the bark, flickering on and off.

As the lightning goes into the water technique, does that also speed it up? Or does it just upgrade the damage/range? >_>'

Just the damage. A wind jutsu used in a combination could speed up the water, but not a lightning jutsu. And I agree, sometimes it really sucks when you come up with an amazing combo and the opponent just dodges everything. Obviously, if it's an official battle it is in his best interest to win but doing something like this kills the fun and makes the battle dull, so try to always have your fun in spars and unofficial battles and when fighting in tournaments prepare for dull battles where using cheap tactics is the only way to win.

Description: The user surrounds themselves with electricity. The intense electric field protects them by electrocuting anyone who comes into contact with it, but only works for one attack.

Lightning armor. How cool is that? Now, this one is a bit different because you don't release the lightning from your hands but actually from your whole body and this way you shape it into an armour. This allows you to destroy earth spikes and similar attacks when they form behind you and you can only react by hearing them. Since it doesn't require any handseals it's amazing specifically for that use. If the spike protrudes from the earth behind you it would crumble as it gets in contact with the armour. Also, it is useful in a taijutsu fight because of its numbing, shocking, paralyzing effects. However, you gotta be careful against water techniques when using it because you could electrocute yourself if the water is strong enough.

After molding the two energies, spiritual and physical, together... I begin to wonder exactly how I'm suppose to make the lightning cover my whole body. Sure, I know how to release it from my hand, but my whole body was a different story. As I feel the vibrations throughout my chakra, I can't help but notice how the vibrations are stronger in my hand. Most likely because I've concentrated it there so many times. Shutting my eyes, I try to force the static throughout my whole body. I picture as if lightning is crawling throughout my veins and blood, zapping here and there. As the vibrations grow more rapid, I try my hardest to try and release the chakra. As it seems to not be working, I grow a bit angered. As I grow tense, I can feel my heart rate quicken. With every quickened beat, I feel the vibrations grow stronger. Finally, feeling the tingling zaps throughout my chakra, all it took was one full, final zap. Then the vibrations released and expanded out from my arms, legs and everything. With the lightning surrounding me, I felt somewhat confined, but also protected. As the lightning is buzzing and twitching around, I stood within the zaps.

I think this is, like, an amazing technique. O-O' although, is it able to defend against attacks that are higher ranked? Doesn't the attack have to be lower ranked or equal?

By the way, sorry if that was an awkward performance. When I'm tired, I tend to do things weirdly xP
