Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. A lot to chew on.
I wonder if we can get a second opinion on both our views? I'm not banking on my theory as fact, it's just it makes a lot more sense to me and seems much less far'fetched than what you're proposing
I mentioned phasing earlier because I was expounding on my idea that Kamui has major plot discrepancies throughout the manga.
Him not using the snipe because of leaving his body vulnerable, like you said, may be plausible.
But so does touching people to bring them in. So why place himself in harms way and go through great lengths to grab someone, if he's able to Snipe from long distances, Kakshi style. My answer- plot discrepancy.
I've always viewed Kakashi's Kamui- offensive.
And Obito's Kamui- defensive.
Do you think they're the same?
I used to, but we can't claim everything that happened to plot.
On top of that, him attacking Rikudou Madara is a perfect example.
He materializes at the last nano second when he touch n warp.
Same concept against minato at the first attempt, the second time minato beat him in timing.
Fu was also warped without being touched, Torune was touched though.
