to me, it always looked like naruto did cut him in half. it's hard to tell because of the distance the camera is, but where the jutsu hit is a lot of blood. that could be interpreted as in being cut in half or just being cut into deeply. madara was pretty f'ed up from that jutsu either way. he was down there and had time to heal himself. but it still is kinda weird that sasuke did it with that tech.
