[Discussion] Chidori VS Rasengan

Rasengan is a unfinished Ninjutsu, thus it has no element what so ever as its only pure chakra in a shape. Fuuton (Wind Style) can cancel out Raiton (Lightning Style), which the Rasengan is not of, thus it cannot cancel out the Chidori unless it equals it in strength. A weaken Sasuke was able to make a Chidori that cancelled out Naruto casual Rasengan. A Black Chidori cancelled out a Vermillion Rasengan during their final fight in Part I. That are two cases when the Jutsus were used at equal levels and they cancelled each other out, meaning that they are equally powerful. Fuuton: Rasenshuriken (Wind Style: Rasenshuriken) is Naruto's version of the Rasengan, applied with the Wind Element. Chidori, also known as Raikiri (Lightning Blade) is Kakashi's version of what to him equals the Rasengan. (As he was unable to add his element to the Rasengan.) Kirin is Sasuke's version of what equals the Rasengan with his element of Lightning added to it. Thus when you compare, you should compare it as such; Rasengan & Chidori Kirin & Rasenghuriken

Rasengan is way out of leauge for sasuke's chidori. Naruto and sasuke cancelled each other out when sasuke used both chakra form and nature manipulation, whereas naruto used only chakra form. If he had added nature manipulation to his rasengan he could just blast of sasuke, 'cause wind is superior to lightning. Its just that he is showing pity to sasuke.

If he did that, then its no longer a Rasengan and has become another jutsu. (Meaning that the Rasengan itself is not more powerful than the Chidori. Which is the question in this thread.)

Nice. But Kirin is not Sasuke's chakra. It is outside cloud lightning. So it cannot be compared to Rasen Shuriken.
One more thing it was stated by Minato that chidori was not perfect as it didn't allow user to act fast and thus makes him vulnerable to enemy attack. It was perfected as stated by Kakashi himself when he got Sharingan. Most high form that you can give it is when Sasuke enhanced it's range against Danzo.

Nice. But Kirin is not Sasuke's chakra. It is outside cloud lightning. So it cannot be compared to Rasen Shuriken.
One more thing it was stated by Minato that chidori was not perfect as it didn't allow user to act fast and thus makes him vulnerable to enemy attack. It was perfected as stated by Kakashi himself when he got Sharingan. Most high form that you can give it is when Sasuke enhanced it's range against Danzo.

Sasuke could use that technique a while back. He was using it against Orochimaru lol.

By that logic, then Naruto's flying or his elemental Rasengan's (Sand, Lava etc.) aren't his own as its not his own chakra. Neither is his Sage Mode or Bijuu Cloak his own power as they are not his chakra. A Jutsu doesn't mean that is has to be his own chakra. Sasuke still have to use a tiny amount of chakra to connect his own chakra to the lightning in order to manipulate it. That is both Chakra Nature and Chakra Form in one jutsu to a level way higher than the Chidori. Minato stated that Chidori was not something to be used by Kakashi as he was moving to fast to be able to keep up with it himself. (Which he was able to do once he gained the Sharingan.) Besides that point, Sasuke has proved that he is able to use Chidori without his Sharingan and while being almost completely blind. (That means he has surpassed Kakashi's use of it greatly.) Also he used Chidori Spear against Orochimaru and Deidara before he used it against Danzo. (Along with Chidori Senbon and Chidori Nagashi.)

Yep I believe from day one that they are borrowed powers. Sasuke's power upto chunin exams and naruto's power upto pain fight minus NTails activity are legit and completely earned by training.

Then by that logic, Fuuton: Rasenshuriken is not Naruto's power either. As he requires either Sage Mode or Bijuu Cloak in order to use it further. (If he did it without, then he wouldn't be able to mold chakra for the rest of his life.) So your earlier statement that we cannot count Kirin as the same as Rasenshuriken is invalid. (Naruto has to use his own chakra with either Kurama or Nature Chakra to preform Rasenshuriken. Sasuke has to combine his chakra with the Natural Lightning to preform Kirin.)

Nature energy requires training unlike using ORO's curse mark or Itachi's eyes. Anyway I'm not going to drag this any further as it's useless and time wasting. Kudos
