In this panel Kakashi implies he copied the rasengan

A few panels before he implies that he learned chidori after rasengan.

It sounds like he is saying "If it were easy to combine my lightning chakra with rasengan I wouldn't have needed to develop chidori." By implying he copied rasengan and by saying that chidori was developed after copying rasengan, he creates a paradox because we know that he only got the sharingan after learning chidori. So how could he have created chidori to replace a copied rasengan that was copied before he had sharingan.

I see only one way out of this. And that is that Kakashi did in fact LEARN (not copy) rasengan and proceeded to create chidori. And that in the first panel Kakashi is actually saying that he can "copy A rank techs somehow" and not saying he copied rasengan. This makes sense because Kakashi is a genius but is kinda weird because it sounds like he copied it. But if he didn't copy it, Kudos to him I guess for having another technique he didn't copy.

Yep, I guess that he developed the Chidori using the Rasengan principle, because his chakra control wasn't as good as Minato's.

I think he meant that he is able to copy Minato by using the Rasengan. Not that he used the Sharingan to do so. (Same as Naruto is simply copying his father and master, only that he managed to bring it to a new level.)

Yup I agree with you op
Thanks!
Agreed, nice job
Thank you!
might be a bad translation
Perhaps, but I think this is viz. Look at the quality, panel spacing, and font. It looks similar to most viz images I have seen. I also believe he said something similar in the anime. It most probably is a plothole by Kishi because he forgot about Kakashi Gaiden here.

Either way it still means he learned it on his own which I think is something commonly overlooked and something I did until just now. Not that surprising that he could do it, but just another testament to his innate ability.

Kakashi learned rasengan from Minato the same way Jiraiya did from Minato.
Kakashi wasn't able to add the lightning element to a purely chakra made rasengan and hence had to create chidori.
Jiraiya had SM and hence was able to increase the size of the rasengan.

Jiraiaya learned so Kakashi can learn it as well after all he was a genius.

He learned it using his Sharingan. He didn't directly copy it since the Rasengan requires a lot of unique chakra manipulation skills. Sharingan helped the process. He then tried to mix it with Raiton and made a half failed product like Chidori and Raikiri. It was a workflow he based on the 4th's technique[SUB]

Kakashi said he created the Chidori after learning the Rasengan, he gained the Sharingan after creating the Chidori. He learnt Rasengan without Sharingan.

I never noticed this. You people read manga too seriously.

Thanks, but it was actually because I was rereading to check facts because of another thread. I happened into it. I guess the fact that I was rereading for this forum means I read it too seriously haha (I have no life)
