women r usually not allowed to reveal themselves to men in Islam, where in relationships close like those off a gf/bf it is usually taken too far for personal happiness, though it doesn't matters much with fiance
as for modern times, no body bothers about it
my personal opinion, dont feel like giving it, as where i stand as a Muslim, i'll keep it to myself

Uhm, in England its sort of different, from my point of view..modern british muslims are allowed to have relations but it seems to often be with someone with the same background as them

am muslim ..and i know that having gf is haram...but i think if said the reason .. non muslims will not understand what am takin about..

anyway i will say as much i know....

Muslims should have good relations with all people, males as well as females, at school, at work, in you neighborhood etc....You should be kind and courteous to everyone....it is not allowed for a Muslim boy to have a girlfriend or for a Muslim girl to have a boyfriend. Howsoever pure your intentions may be, the danger is that it will lead you to sin....i hope u understood wat i said

Typical for so many religions. Don't know why you people think of this restriction as of a major one though.
Serious relationships establish when you are 18+ , imo. Until then , it is more like friendship.
