I propose a simple scenario:
Both Sasuke and Minato are presented with a large scale Bijudama approaching at top speed.
They cannot dodge as if they do the alliance will be destroyed.
They are also for the premise of the scenario limited to their respective space-time techniques. So that means no Susanoo for Sasuke as this is a scenario to purely analyze their techniques.
------------------------------------------
Minato absorbs the Bijudama with a space-time barrier and redirects the attack to a FTG kunai miles away. The Bijudama detonates far from human habitation and results in no to few casualties.
------------------------------------------
Sasuke throws a Kunai up over the alliance and swaps the Bijudama with the kunai. The Bijudama misses the majority of the alliance but still causes causalities to be suffered as the attack detonated too close to the alliance.
------------------------------------------
I have tried to be as objective as possible while comparing these two techniques. Both are powerful yes but in comparison FTG's sheer command of the battlefield it far outstrips Sasuke's own technique. Minato can be on one side of the battlefield one moment, miles away, the next he can be shoring up defenses on a collapsing flank, as long as he is informed.
Sasuke's technique is severely limited with regards to long range possibilities requiring him to make multiple jumps where as Minato could make one single instantaneous jump.
Overall Sasuke's technique is useful but in all honesty its not anything we haven't seen the FTG do when used by Tobirama and Minato, true they used a combination FTG jutsu but the fact stands that with a little preparation I don't doubt they could replicate the technique's effects.
-------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
New Scenario:
Lets take Sasuke vs Madara and Minato vs Madara.
Both use instantaneous space time techniques. Sasuke can't arrive before he left remember so you can't be "faster" than FTG. Its one speed
.
In all honesty I don't think Kishi was terribly fair to Minato when Madara just curb-stomped him. Especially when Sasuke suddenly returns with a Space time tech and can suddenly start cutting up Madara. Its an inconsistency. Sasuke can't be "faster" its one speed: instant 0 seconds.
But with regards to close range combat possibilities Sasuke's technique wins out, FTG becomes more predictable at close range. If an opponent makes no mistakes they can account for where the FTG user might appear, as long as they have a good understanding of the jutsu being used against them. Sasuke's technique doesn't really have a weakness at close range, he can swap with anything, dust in the air, and randomly falling rock, maybe even air itself. In essance there are no tells in his technique to give away where a user might appear next. Coupled with the sharingan it makes him superiour to Minato in close range combat with regards to space-time ninjutsu.
But the fact remains against someone with a technique like that you spam Bijudama at him until he is dead
