Madara activating a timed Izanagi in his Sharingan says that he knew he would lose against Hashi, because If he was so confident he was going to win why activate it in the first place? It was a fail safe.

If Madara could have killed Hashi, he would have, period.

But he then he wouldn't be able to hide in peace and continue mugen Tsukuyomi because the entire world would know that he's alive. And knowing Tobirama, he would send teams in on out searching for Madara. In the end, madara would have no choice but to fight the world.

Hashirama has sealess healing Justu, as if a measly stab is going to do anything

Read the manga. His SM is the "sealess" healing Jutsu. And yes, a knife to the neck cutting his head off is going to do damage. And Hashi's "sealess" healing justu doesn't regenerate limbs. Unless you have scans of course. (U don't have scans, but i do. Manga is in my favor)

Except for he would have no real reason to hide when he could have just killed Hashirama and taken his DNA right then and there. Considering he came with the intent to kill & was ever so surprised when Hashi stabbed him. It still would have been easy downtime for him, and he could have still hid somewhere with no hassle. No one could rival Hashi's or Madara's powers.

First off. I am completely anti Madara. I think he was a terrible villain that only got so far far by being lucky when Kabuto summoned him through Edo Tensei. I am so glad he is not the final villain, because he didn't deserve to be. Considering the fact that he had no connection to any of the main characters, and wasn't relevant to the story.

Now to address the topic of the thread.

Madara doesn't need to have both his eyes, or any for that matter, to use Susano'o.

Izanagi changes reality.

Madara could make himself comeback at full power, and stomp exhausted Hashirama.

Madara had his izanagi on a timer. He could not activate it any earlier. He got whooped in the end of that fight vs hashi and lost. Luckily for madara he knew that was a possibility.

In all honesty this is actually true

If you don't know how inazagi works you might think sensor would be a good counter but as proven in Sasuke vs danzo it means nothing
Without an instant defense sage mode reflexes don't equal survival
And as far as hashirama and his healing ability read the manga he was in worse shape than Madara was

Madara had a plan his winning would've ruined it by putting the world's attention on him

Fan or not the evidence supports Madara actually having a greater chance of winning that fight common sense and context clues give reason to believe he did intentionally lose
