Why is hamura omitted in madara's recollections of the holy tree story?

I found this strange because madara's story is likely a flawed version given to him by black zetsu and him purposely leaving out hamura, and hamura not being remembered by anybody even though he fought kaguya alongside hagoromo leaves me to believe there's got to be something bigger than hamura just not being a big part of the story.

Yeah, I always wondered why Hamura and Kaguya's husband were omitted from the legendary story.

Black Zetsu didn't want the Uchiha to get butt hurt knowing a Byakugan user kicked the juubi's ass along side a rennigan user instead of a sharingan user. Yas.

I am thinking that Hamura's plan was to "erase" himself from existence so that no one would look for him or any of the powers that he may have. Currently we don't know what happened to Hamura, this might be important to his return.

This is pretty easy to understand. How many time the Huyga are mentioned in a very important matter in the series? What are the specialties of the Huyagas? How a big deal are they in Konoha?

See, even Ino-Shika-Cho trio is more famous than the entire Huyaga clan, and I bet even Akamaru is more famous than the entire clan. If Hinata wasn't a fangirl of Naruto, I bet Neiji wouldn't be important, and Akamaru would have had more screen time than the entire Huyaga clan.

Now, consider the fact that Hamura is pretty much a Huyaga, and the only thing that is different here is that he had horn. From the above logic, it is normal that he does not have any major legend time from all the tales. See, just like the Huyga, hamura was a nice guy who was happy with his life and did not try to be a hero. I bet he died just like Neiji died in the fight against the Juubi when he was fighting Juubi alongside Hagoromo.

But the story is coming from black zetsu who knows hamura exists

I highly doubt he wasn't mentioned because he was a "nice guy who was happy with his life."

He took down the Juubi and helped seal it. If that doesn't call for being remembered, then what is? Like the OP has stated, there has to be a bigger story behind who Hamaru was. It isn't like Kishi (or anyone writing a story) to mention a figure as important as Hamaru and then just toss him out later.

My guess is that we'll find out more about Hamaru as well as the Byakugan. We still haven't really been told that much as to why Kaguya has a Byakugan when the Rinnegan has been stated to be much more powerful. So in that way, Hamaru might make an appearance as well.

The Hyuuga are even more important than being the descendants of Hamura (which they are not).

The Hyuuga are the descendants of the Ototsuki warriors left behind to safeguard the portion of Kaguya that would, one day, be reborn amidst their head branch (perhaps they fully understood the details at the time - perhaps they knew only that they needed to stay).

Hamura, most likely, did not have the Byakguan. Nor was he the progenitor of the Uzumaki.

The Uzumaki predate even the Sage. They were the original tenants of the Holy Tree - the ones who learned to harness the flow of natural energy via ritual and seals. Some of them even mastered the art of becoming a "sage" and directly harnessed the natural energy around them to become warriors who could contend against even Kaguya.

The Sage of Six Paths, Hamura, was born with the expression of Kaguya's desire to end the suffering of the world - the Rinnegan (which is symbolic of the Buddhist Dharma Wheel and the six paths, or six phases, of Karmic reincarnation). When the Ototsuki (Wuji) and the Uzumaki (Taiji) come together with the inspiration of the Golden Fruit (Elixir of Life) - then destiny can be rewritten and a new world created or the existing world recast.

Hagoromo and Hamura are the product of that movement.

Born of Kaguya's desire to see people achieve power and to overcome obstacles was Hamura.

Juugo is the descendant of Hamura - inheriting the ability of the Holy tree to absorb nature chakra.

Though, when Hamura and Hagoromo sealed the Juubi between them - it is quite likely that it was Hamura's portion of chakra that was divided amongst the people by the Sage.

One must then question whether or not Hamura was a willing participant.

His eyes are closed. Note the heavy line on the lower lid indicating eyelashes.

hinata is useless...

That's what people have been saying since her character has been introduced.

And, yet, Kishimoto keeps inserting her into crucial elements of the plot.

But that's fan-service, right?

juubi was sealed only in hago.

Oh, neat, someone already underlined it for me. Apparently, you've got a brother out there.
