Hey everyone. I've been watching some Black Lagoon lately, and the Vampire Twins really struck a chord with me. I hate the ending of their arc (Hansel getting his knee and hand blown off and forced to bleed to death, while Gretel almost makes it to safety, promising to have a picnic with Rock before getting headshotted right in front of him). While they were horrible psychopaths, I genuinely think that they could've changed based on Gretel's actions with Rock.
Now, a main staple of most Naruto fanfiction is introducing a character from another franchise to see their interactions with Naruto. Now, my plan was to have Hansel and Gretel meet Naruto-They aren't from another universe, Orochimaru's test subjects maybe?- shortly before the Wave Arc. Naruto is the only one who seems to want to help them, so Hiruzen and Danzo don't let the chance of getting a hold over the twins to waste. They remove Naruto from Team 7 (Replacing him with Sai, so Danzo can keep an eye on dat Sharingan) and place Naruto on a new team consisting of him, Hansel, Gretel, and their sensei being Yamato.
Hansel and Gretel will still be murder loving psychopaths, despite Naruto's efforts. Naruto will remain the only one they listen to and actually have on their 'do not kill' list. Everyone else in Konoha is free game, but they don't due to Naruto.
Hiruzen and Danzo will be painted in more shades of Gray; the matter of Hiruzen leaving Naruto in the orphanage will be touched upon, but instead of painting him as a complete monster, he will seem more of a Well Intentioned Extremist, allowing Danzo to perform the Root missions and not report to him the full extent in order to have plausible deniability. He will, however, be attempting to get Hansel and Gretel under his control, overestimating Naruto's capabilities of TNJ.
Danzo will still be working from the shadows, and will employ Naruto and the twins on a few Root style missions. A bit more on the shadier aspects of his past are looked upon (Specifically, assisting Orochimaru with the Hansel and Gretel project, supplying children to be killed by the twins). Danzo will be called out on this, and seemingly attempt to atone by trying to convince Hiruzen to leave Naruto and the twins alone. This will be revealed to be less of a desire to help the twins, and more of the realization that the second one of the three dies, the other two will go on a massive rampage, heavily damaging Konoha. Danzo will attempt to take the Grandfatherly persona to Naruto after Hiruzen's leaving Naruto in the orphanage is revealed, to limited success.
Hansel and Gretel will be just as they were in Black Lagoon, with the entire 'take turns at being the boy/girl by using a wig'. The experiments consist of the Swift Release, and minor regeneration. I am still debating whether to have Gretel use a Kunai Launcher (Like Lars from Ninja Storm 2 or the Sky Ninja) or have the Iron Sand Release. In the case of the latter, both twins will have it, due to them taking turns at being Hansel and Gretel.
