Except that's literally the entire point of his character: his pursuit of eternal rebirth. I don't see what you're saying.

This is not deep at all. He is basically like Frieza. Yet people call characters with actual motivations like Madara and Obito 1 dimensional.

How can you compare hitler getting affected by a sexy-no jutsu to Kaguya getting affected by it. Now you're mixing up fictional scenarios from a manga with the real world. If you're trying to make a good point, you should never compare the real world with a manga. It's simply unrealistic and absurd. There's no comparison between the two.

...What? Either you haven't read the manga or you're purposely ignoring the reason he actually wants immortality. That's the same as me saying that Madara wanting to put the world under Tsuki no Me isn't deep at all; it's exactly ignoring why he wants that goal.

Even in action movies, the villains still at least put on a good show and do actually show some success. They just don't have time to show a lot.

You mentioned the movie Man of steel, so I will use that as an example.

Zod and his crew were actually succeeding in terra forming the earth and they were even beating up super man. Superman stopped him at the very end.

Here is a better analogy to think about:

What if that movie was remade, but with a twist? You sit down at the theater and excitedly wait for the movie to begin. The movie starts, and straight from the start, Super man throws a knife at Zod and kills him in the first 5 seconds of the movie. Movie over.

Would you really find this epic? That is the kind of feeling that Orochimaru gives off.

I actually like Oro as a character, but I do agree that as a villain he was, well, underwhelming. I enjoy those science-minded characters that are on their own side, though there are others who fall under that archetype who I like better than him (the "Sasuke-kun's body" thing is... off-putting). I think that it's good that Kishi used different kinds of antagonists, and one part of Oro that I like is that he really is twisted, and isn't doing what he is doing just because of some childhood trauma while waiting to be TnJ'd.

I agree on Zod part as well. Though they didn't really succeed at terraforming, that plan was foiled the moment Supes destroyed that world engine thing that was in the ocean or something, they sure put on a show, as you say.

He only wants the goal because of his parents' deaths and scientific curiosity. I am not saying that those are bad reasons, but trauma and world conflict also drive Madara and Obito. Yet hypocrites bash them just for having power.

It is effectively the same.

Kaguya= All chakara is mine!
Hitler= All of the world is mine!

Evil is evil regardless of whether or not it is fictional.

I have never seen anyone bash Madara or Obito for 'having power'.

A]Yet he is supposed to be so developed and hyped up. He is terrible. He accomplishes nothing, does more good than evil (like reviving the hokages to help with the war), and we don't really know that much about him!

B]Well grab a poke ball because we have got a new snake pokemon in town. His sound is kukuku.

This is development! Kukukuku is not development! A good villain is not just about pure evil! It is about effectiveness!

C] That is all I have got to say except for one last question:

Do you weakling lovers hate Marvel/DC action movies as well?

A] Disagreed . Orochimaru has character development throughout the series although i would love to get to know more about his plans [But it has the suspense aspect on his character]

Madara, Obito are well written characters that displayed their stories in a way to their current motivation to change the world [As people who have a very kind heart at the beginning of their lifes]. As mentioned earlier i would like Kaguya to communicate more on her own [I know BZ is her will, but it brings more depth to characterization when done by Kaguya]

B] Lol nice one !!

C] I pretty much enjoyed every one of em :/

Orochimaru obviously had more depth than those two.

Why would you even like a character if not for their personality? It's their character that we're attracted to.

Sometimes it's the looks, sometimes it's how epic they are. Sometimes I manage to like characters with little personality just for how they are characterized.

It is entertainment that I am attracted to. Action, suspense, thought provoking philosophy, plot twists, epic power ,etc... entertains me.
Orochimaru doesn't really have alot of "character". He is just kukuku. That is practically all he is.

Kabuto is more respectable. He has the scientific mind of Orochimaru, and he actually effectively does stuff with it unlike Orochimaru.

By the way, your skills and the things you do are a part of your character. Your actions speak louder than any evil laugh you can do.

@bold a character without a personality can't be even classified as a character at all, there's nothing to them to relate.

two perfect examples of "weak" yet incredible villians are Light Yagami and Lelouch, in terms of development Madara and Obito pales in comparison.

I don't know who those people are, but I will give another example of a weak but epic villain. Plankton in the Spongebob movie was epic! Plankton executed plan z perfectly! He took over Bikini Bottom and even got King Neptune under his control! Spongebob only won because of what was probably the biggest deus ex machinima in the history of fiction!

Then you have not been looking hard enough. Fans have been increasingly bashing as villains get stronger and stronger.

More power = more bash

I bet if Dora the explorer came instead of Kaguya, then people would be saying stuff like "Kishi has finally stepped up his game" or "My faith in the manga is restored".

Death Note and Code Geass both are short i highly recommend you check them out, they're both the protagonist and the villain of the story.
