From the flash back,it stated that Ashura could not do anything on his own but rely on other for strenght.Ashura had several people beside him when he faught Indra who was by himself.If Ashura did not have the support system from the people in his time then Indra would have won?Probably the people who supported Ashura were very skillful also with their own clan jutsu or kkg?

Ashura have about 20+ shinobi supporting him

I don't know if Indra vs Ashura even took place but i don't honestly think someone like Ashura (who gives love priority) would fight with several on his side against his own brother.That's unrealistic.At the most he must have got some help in his training while he had not awakened his power.

Anyway, we know Sasuke and Naruto are equal b/c, while Naruto is stronger, Sasuke is smarter than Naruto.
