In a yet-to-start morning about 6 am, Rai is seen leaving his mansion seeking some fresh air. He had an appointment with the lord (assuming that you are the lord, or else, who would it be that is to teach Raizel-nim?). It was about his power, the lord decided to pass on his knowledge about Mind Manipulation to Raizel-nim, it is not like he needs it, but The Lord wouldn't pass his knowledge on to anyone but Raizel, after all, he was his chosen Lord, and would always be. Rai is seen in the common uniform of the higher-ups in his village. It is the most suitable outfit for the job, as dust may reach the white suit which would make it look horrible, and of course, that is what Rai hate the most. This is inelegant, after all.
As he reaches the appointment's location, an unknown forest outside the borders of the village, he creates a chair to sit on, by creating a short pillar and cause a pillar to emerge from it's down side. With this said, Rai simply sits on it, with his legs one on the other, waiting for the Lord's arrival. After some minutes, Rai hears a voice addressing him with his name, Rai, however, sits still no matter how high the voice becomes, knowing that this isn't anyone but the Lord and his childish tricks.
With his normal voice meanwhile having his eyes closed and his expressions nothing but normal, Rai starts to speak, however, it isn't like he would say much, it is known for him to say a word or two, it would be a miracle for him to complete a sentence. That is said, he addresses his lord by saying;
It is no one but you, Lord.

"Hey dip shit, at least act like you care that I'm calling you." Shin said as he appeared out of thin air before you. "And while I wouldn't mind being one someday, I'm not a 'Lord'. I am your new sensei I was sent here by the one you would refer to as 'Lord', our headmaster. Anyway get out of the chair." Shin said sternly.
Rai opens his eyes as the addressed person called Shin finishes his speech. With his eyes open, he notices the a young man around 20 with a blond hair and a retarded looking clothes with snatches around his legs and elbows.
Rai thinks to himself; So inelegant.
Rai stands up as a sign of respect, even though, this man didn't show any to him.
I respect your behavior, even though, you aren't showing any respect. Having showed you respect, you should at least present some kind of respect. It is not like I am cocky or anything, however, that is how a shinobi should live. Now, could we finish what we are here for? My morning-snack time is close.

Now then before we proceed, I'm curious to know your knowledge of our clan's history and what the similarities and differences between our clan's techniques and genjutsu techniques. So answer me those."

The Yamanaka clan is a clan of ordinary people who originate from the Village Hidden in Leave. They aren't the most intelligent, nor are they the most powerful in the village, yet, they have their unique abilities. You can say it is similar to Genjutsu, yet, it is more effective than it. Genjutsu is the art of casting illusions on the enemy which grants the shinobi the ability to manipulate a sense or two of their senses, which would give him the upper hand in battles and would also confuses some shinobis if the illusion is too realistic, thus, Genjutsu masters counts as some of the most feared Shinobis in the Ninja world, as they not only could manipulate and affect a sense or two, they could also manipulate more senses, if not all of them. The Yamanaka clan abilities, however, aren't Genjutsu nor are anything similar to it, only thing that could be in common with them, is that it grants the opponent a manipulation of the opponent, each in it's own way. As I stated previously, Genjutsu grants you manipulation of the user's sense(s), yet the Yamanaka clan abilities grants you a manipulation of either the enemy's mind, granting the shinobi to read the enemy's secrets which he wouldn't reveal even if he is under an illusion, as some shinobis may be trained under some conditions that they would be able to hide some information, mostly, Village related information under illusion. There are also seals that would seal some information within the enemy's mind, therefore, illusions wouldn't work on them, yet, The Yamanaka clan abilities grants it's wielders the ability to swim within their memorize and get anything they want from them. That however isn't all. The abilities grants the shinobi to take control of the enemy's whole body, which is really effective in spying. It is also really effective if the shinboi is fighting more than one person, he could camouflage himself within someone of them while keeping his body hidden, which would allow him to get rid of most of his enemies if not all with an ease.
Rai then sighs as he has never said something as long as that.

Anyway, our clan is hardly anything normal. While we may not possess a kekkei genkai our mind based ninjutsu is hardly an easy thing to imitate even for a Sharingan wielding copy cats. We've lived in a harmony with the Nara and Akimichi clans for several generations. We are among the most talented in regards to teamwork.
As for Genjutsu, the two techniques are similar to one another. They both dwell in the mind and therefore possess a heavy concentration of Yin chakra. Now assuming you don't know anything I'll just be brief with my explanation; Ninjutsu consists of two parts; one part Yin or Spiritual chakra and one part Yang or Physical chakra. Yin deals with the mind, imagination and concept, Yang deals with the body, reality, and materialization therefore in all ninjutsu you have the concept and limitations and then you create them, simple. Now then these two chakras are not necessarily 50/50 in division. Genjutsu for example is commonly refered to as Yin-release for the pure fact that it deals with the mind and bares no physical affect on the body bar special genjutsu from a few clans and insanely powerful genjutsu masters. There is still a degree of Yang in genjutsu but very small and is not enough to be considered ninjutsu. Yamanaka techniques, being ninjutsu, have both Yin and Yang energies enough to call itself ninjutsu while having an especially strong emphasis in Yin. Why? Because we are transferring our mind and soul into the bodies of our opponents and making their bodies work for us as we see fit. Such manipulation is a result of Yin rather than Yang like the Akimichi who increase their size and girth.
Now don't overestimate the skills of our clan over that of Genjutsu. If a shinobi truly has the means to hide something from an adversary, not even mind reading ninjutsu can uncover it. The capabilities of genjutsu expand beyond the scope of mere sensory manipulation. Hypnotism is a powerful and very under recognized ability within genjutsu, however this is because it's very rare. There are few techniques that can put people in hypnotic states under normal means but either way they serve to be powerful weapons especially in interrogations. Our ninjutsu techniques, however, are specifically crafted for control and more viscous destruction of the minds of our adversaries as opposed to genjutsu which primary is to either distract or bring one's opponent to a state of insanity from the lack of distinction between reality and fiction. Now then any questions?"
