I'd imagine there more to this family story than what we've been shown so far, but it feels almost redundant.
All the signs were pointing to Naruto being Hagoromo from chapters like the Kurama's comparison of them, Juubi seeing his eyes behind Naruto, symbols on his cloak, etc. And Hamura had a Byakugan, which will end up confirming Kakashi's monologue about how the Sharingan hails from the Byakugan, so Sasuke could fit in there as well.
So, why force Ashura and Indra roles upon them when they'll most likely have to take the Hagoromo/Hamura route for this fight a la Kaguya noticing Sun Mark on Naruto that Hagoromo also had?
