1. I hardly like Itachi
2. We didn't
3. We saw put out the flames in the manga, that's Amaterasu

Stopped and extinguished are the same thing. The Amaterasu was already set to Sasuke, and Itachi erased it, he made it go away, the black fire was no longer there because he stopped it.
No. What sasuke did to karin was actually extinguish the flames. Look at it carefully, itachi did not extinguish anything, he simply stopped using amaterasu and as a result, sasuke's body where the flame made contact was torched. Amaterasu is said to burn everything it touches, only then will it . His body was burnt therefore the flames extinguished because itachi did not carry on using it, not because he himself extinguished it lol Karin's body was saved because sasuke put out the flames.

Anyway, how is extinguishing ameratsu considered to be shape manipulation?

Extinguishing and manipulating are two separate things, but done with the same jutsu. Kagutsuchi grants control over Amaterasu once it has been spawned, and this control allows you to extinguish and manipulate the flames' shape. Sasuke both controls the shape and extinguishes the flames through his right eye, which is the eye that houses Kagutsuchi, so they both fall under Kagutsuchi.

If Itachi hadn't stopped the flames, they would have made contact with the floor and continued burning. Not only that, but Sasuke's upper body was left, so the flames didn't completely eradicate its target, so it should have kept burning. Itachi stopped the flames, which is the same as putting them out.

Are you getting this info somewhere or are you assuming? If thats the case for sasuke, then what is itachis case of using enton as you say. He used his ameratsu eye for it did he not?

...From the manga? I'm just putting information presented in the manga together dude.
Sasuke manipulates and extinguishes the flames with his right eye.
His right eye has only done Tsuki and Kagutsuchi.
Itachi has put out the flames.

What does that tell you? Did you even read the original post?

So sasuke needed to use another eye to extinguish ameratsu, but itachi used the same eye to put it out... How does that point to Itachi having shape manipulation on his ameratsu? And please with the sasuke having tsukuyomi, just show me a scan of the words and not some assumed usage because of inverted color.

Actually nothing was left since he used a substitution technique. I'll say this once again. Itachi stopping amaterasu does not equate to Itachi extinguishing the black flames.

He stops using his fire style Does that mean he extinguishes it? NO

He doesn't have shape manipulation. He can only extinguish a small amount of Amaterasu. It's the same as how Sasuke can't manipulate perception of time with his Tsukiyomi.

And you're being difficult. Tsukiyomi is the only eye technique that creates an inverted scale. It's the only genjutsu that does. So why isn't the fact that Sasuke used a technique that inverts the color scale, just like how Tsukiyomi does uniquely, enough for you? You just can't accept that yes, Sasuke has Tsukiyomi. You do not need a neon sign saying "Sasuke is using Tsukiyomi here" when the genjutsu Sasuke used against Killer Bee expressed a trait unique to Tsukiyomi. Not everything will be spoon fed to you, you have to use reasoning sometimes.
Actually nothing was left since he used a substitution technique. I'll say this once again. Itachi stopping amaterasu does not equate to Itachi extinguishing the black flames.

Uh yes it does. Even if Itachi stops spawning more Amaterasu, the Amaterasu spawned will still remain. Using Substitution Jutsu or not, Sasuke still left behind something that can be burned. The Amaterasu stopped burning Sasuke's shed skin half-way, when it's supposed to be burn through all of it before stopping. Right after that happened, it was stated that Itachi stopped it. That means Itachi put out the flames.

You call me being difficult because i dont agree sasukes "sharingan genjutsu" used vs Killer B then Danzo is tsukyomi? There is no weaker version, he is using his own sharingans genjutsu as the manga said.

The thing is, Kagutsuchi is shape manipulation, extinguishing ameratsu flames does not fall in that catagory.

Kagutsuchi is being able to control Amaterasu. It includes both shape manipulation and extinguishing. Sasuke extinguishes and manipulates with his right eye, and that's the eye that has Kagutsuchi, the only technique in his right eye that involves Amaterasu, so how does it not fall into the category of Kagutsuchi.

Ok i dont think we will be changing each others opinions. You feel extinguishing ameratsu falls under blaze release, while I do not. While im disapointed I was not able to convince you, you have a good day, sir.:bye:

As soon as itachi touched it, the shed skin vanished. There was something that did burn, the ground underneath him that's why it was scorched. Does this mean that the black flames spawned will continuously burn forever? I don't know what level you're on right now but saying itachi can manipulate the black flames is false. Saying he has enton is false. Sasuke is the only one shown in the manga who can manipulate the flames. The flames stopped because it burnt its target.

this is silly, itachi used the same eye to extinguish amaterasu which he used to cast it

You must be registered for see images

there is no need to try and force things on your own, the eye of sasuke which has the power of enton simply helped the other eye, he can be seen clutching both sides of his head

9/10 thread. Would read again. Will +rep later (can't atm).

I was quite literally going to post a very similar explanation to the one you did in the OP. Lol Good thing I double checked to see if anyone else on NB had already made a thread about this (with this explanation).

"Why a 9/10?" you ask? Because, the closing part of your post is fanfic/speculation:
Riker Slade said:
Itachi simply was never skilled enough in Amaterasu to get as far as Sasuke. He was only able to extinguish a relatively small amount of Amaterasu, and unable to manipulate the flames into different shapes. He never saw the distinction between Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi because of this, so it wasn't until Sasuke that the Release was named and the jutsu was named.

Basically, Itachi didn't know he had the nature releases and jutsu, so Sasuke was the one who named it..
Nothing in the manga supports anything you stated above. If Itachi used Kagutsuchi to extinguish the flames of Amaterasu, obviously he was cognizant of being able to use Kagutsuchi; the fact that he was even aware of Kagutsuchi being in his non-Amaterasu is proof of him being aware that he was a Kagutsuchi user.

Not skilled enough to actually apply Kagutsuchi's shape manipulation to Amaterasu? Pfff. Kagutsuchi simply putting too heavy a strain on Itachi's already AIDS ridden body is more plausible than him not being skilled enough utilize its shape manipulation abilities.

When did tobirama say that?

Do you even manga?

It was when Sasuke and Naruto combined Enton Rasenshuriken to hit the juubi originally

OP: Itachi stopped Amaterasu flames when he cancelled them from burning Sasuke during Sasuke v Itachi fighjt

I disagree for two reasons.

1. Being able to manipulate the flames' shape earned Sasuke the merit of being better at Amaterasu than Itachi. It wasn't said that Sasuke's ability to manipulate the flames' shape was better than Itachi's, but that possessing the ability period made him better at it than Itachi. Therefore, Itachi lacked the ability to manipulate the flames' shape.

2. Kagutsuchi is a Mangekyo technique. The fact that it's named after a god or godly concept, which is the trope for every single Mangekyo technique thus far and hasn't been found in other techniques, and can only be used with the Mangekyo cements this. Itachi said he had 3 Mangekyo techniques. He clearly knows of Amaterasu, Tsukiyomi and Susano'o, calling Susano'o the third and final technique that awakened in his Mangekyo. The fact that Kagutsuchi is actually a fourth ability means Itachi was unaware of its presence in his eyes, and could only use it subconsciously. It's not explicitly stated in the manga, no, but the manga supports it; it's not fanfiction, you just have to put the right pieces together to see the picture.
