Nobody can outright tank 8th gate assaults with bodily durability. Even Sage Mode Juubi Jinchuuriki Madara was torn in half by an exhausted, injured 8th gate Gai. If we're talking about abilities outside of the person's bodily durability, Gedo Damas can probably block some (i.e. Juubi Obito, Madara, Naruto). However, Gai was able to punch right through it with his last Evening Elephant punch, so if Gai is willing to give up an arm (or leg), he can break through that too.

Sakura and Tsunade are so fodder compared to Gai with just some Gates that I can't even. Hashirama is ofc stronger than Gai even with 7th Gate and could tank or overcome his hits but he is totally murderstomped by 8th Gate that nearly killed a SM enhanced Juubi jinchuriki.
