1. With the shuffle button now, most people don't listen to a full album straight up. Just put their playlist on shuffle, and listen, which goes against the concept album since you have to listen to it in one piece.
2. Very few artists have the actual music genius to produce a masterpiece concept album. Which is why there are very few true concept albums that exist. A progressive rock concept album is way out of the league for any artist today.
Floyd was truly one of a kind. Too talented for anyone today to replicate. Same with Zeppelin.
