its so simple we all know that the sage of six paths favoured the senju clan ancestor then the uchia clan ansector and sorry just saying this to clear something
so Naruto should get the sages sword Cuz he is also classifed as a sage

The Sage was shown carrying two objects. One was what appeared to be a large sword across his back, whilst the other was a shakujō, a Buddhist ringed staff which is meant to be used in prayer, but can also be effectively employed as a weapon.
Rinnegan
The Sage was said to have been the only shinobi to have mastered the Rinnegan, which presumably laid the groundwork for the other two great dojutsu, the Sharingan and the Byakugan. He is revered as one of the most legendary figures in the Naruto universe, and is likely the strongest ninja that ever existed. He was so powerful that he created the moon using Chibaku Tensei. Whether the Sage was born with the Rinnegan, or somehow developed it as a result of sealing the Ten-Tailed Beast currently remains a mystery.
Jinchūriki
The Sage developed the first jutsu capable of sealing a tailed beast inside a human body, making himself the first jinchūriki in history. Having the Ten-Tailed Beast's power contained inside him, the Sage developed immeasurable power that far surpassed all of his peers. Even on his deathbed, he was able to employ Chibaku Tensei on a massive scale and use that chakra to create the moon to seal away the Ten-Tailed Beast's body, a clear testament to his incredible power.

maybe naruto would be able to obtain this sword

I can dig Naruto getting the sages weapon but can you elaborate for me a little on the swords powers and abilities. Itachi and Orochimaru and Sasuke all had weapons with extroadinary power I was just inquiring as to what the sages sword was capable of. It may have nothing to do with the Manga or series but in one of the Shipuudden endings towards aumas death or a little after it showed Naruto with a sword walking in the forest crossing paths with Sasuke and thought the idea of Naruto with a sword would be sick so yeah main thats a good deal and if you would get back to me about that sword please

Give him the black rods that Nagato used. They can control the opponent's chakra from near or afar if they land. Naruto has plenty of chakra types to infuse them with too {Basic, wind, nature, Kyuubi}. Who knows, he could even screw up a MS technique as long as it's in there. Where do the rods come from? No clue, but there should be plenty lying around Konoha.

If Bee teaches Naruto anything, the minimum could be infusing chakra into basic ninja tools or benign things like a pencil. That would sup up Naruto's armament without him getting some big new weapon. How cool would Kyuubi chakra kunai or even just wind kunai.

1.) Nagato's rods
2.) Chakra infused basic ninja armament
3.) Asuma's trench knives
4.) Some fancy swords

Naruto with a sword would be sick he would be able to do so much with it especially if he could funnel chakra through it. I would like to see use this and sage mode together he might even be able cast Rasenshuriken just by swiping the blade through the air at someone

Dude its just a suggestion that something like this might have a higher chance of happening than some random thing like say the 4th being Tobi --> this obviously would have some really low chances of happening(I hope)..
Its not like he's saying okay this is the proof and hence so and so is going to happen for sure. he just said It would be cool to see that..
@ OP yeah that would be a really sick idea. Always thought of it as though it would happen too as in Naruto might someday wield something like a powerful and all..

The main problem with giving Naruto such a powerful weapon as a weapon from the sage of six paths, is that they aren't lying around or really known whether or not they exist. If they do, how do we know someone else doesn't have it.

Here's an example from the Manga. Itachi equipped his Susanoo with I believe it was the Taka mirror (reflects any attack we saw) and the sword of Totsuka (celestial blade that seals anyone into a blissful genjutsu forever). Now, Orochimaru wanted that sword too, and spent god only knows how long looking for it. Let's say he spent 10 years looking for it. By the time Naruto is 26 (i.e. 10 years from now) the manga will be over.

There seems to be an abundance of swords in the manga, but they don't suit Naruto's fighting style in my opinion. Naruto is now a full blown toad sage. He fights close-to-mid range fights along with summoning support.

Based on the recent manga with Bee and the Raikage, look at how powerful a pencil and a shuriken became when infused with chakra, that's not even wind chakra!

Mystical weapons need to be found, and while fancy is cool it needs to suit the character. I think Naruto's best chance at a mystical weapon is the toads, who knows maybe Pa or Ma toad gives him one.

Naruto should focus on enhancing his arsenal with his wind or nature chakra. If nature chakra infused shuriken/kunai works like toad kata, then they would be surrounded by an invisible sheath of chakra extending their breath and without the susceptibility of an elemental chakra.

i think naruto will get the staff because sasuke allready has a sword naruto is a sage and when i think of sage's i think a staff is there weapon plus i think naruto would be able to do a lot of wind jutsu's with a staff to

Not to be picky because Kishimoto most likely isn't an ornithologist, but crows have dark beaks and dark legs. The bird pictured on this cover also has a shorter more curved beak making it resemble some species of raptor.

I would like Itachi's gift to be a sword, but I don't really think it is right now.

I think too many people have been looking at the covers of manga like this for evidence since some has been proven to forshadow. I honestly think too much points to it after looking over many of these, and too many different options.

I think the gift will end up being something very unique and different than what we will expect. So many things can come from it, but in the end we will just have to wait to see what it /actually/ is.
