Re: "Real" Apex predator undiscovered

Of course there's a bigger creature in the ocean.

The ocean is too damn big & deep for all of the life to be discovered in it.

There's no telling whats lying deep in the ocean.

I suppose that there could be any number of things at the bottom of the ocean, seeing as we haven't yet fully explored down there. That said, it was probably just eaten by a whale or something. Don't overthink it.

Re: "Real" Apex predator undiscovered

Just to squash this.

A 9 foot Great White is large, but it is tiny compared to a fully grown Great White. The day of the incident monitored on the attack, they discovered that several massive Great Whites (15+ feet) were just arriving in Australia after a migration. The type of attack involved, the warmth of the belly of a Great White and the fact we know Great Whites aren't strangers to attacking their own species confirmed that a massive Great White was the most likely culprit behind the attack of this smaller Great White.

Furthermore, Great Whites have always had a higher predator. Large Orcas hunt Great Whites alone without a pack while smaller Orcas attack Great Whites in packs. Of course, Orcas wouldn't be stupid to be risky around a Great White, but I wouldn't exactly say Great Whites are the deadliest creature in the sea, but I would still say it's the ultimate predator of the sea.
