It's already stated way back in part 1 that byakugan cannot distinguish between shadow clones(which also carries over four lightening shadow clones since its a variant of it) and the original user. Given how fast kakashi pulls off his feints(kisame,itachi,deidara,pain, zabuza, hidan(all s rank mind you) etc failed to notice) chances are he'd fall for it as well.

As for taijutsu he's more than capable of handling his own(schooling neji's sensai since they were kids) having his early part 2 skill in the area being compared to part 1 Lee. He's already been in situations were he'd engage in cqc without taking so much as a scratch(hidan) and he's already familiar with the workings of gentle fist.

He out classes him in ninjutsu having multiple elements and techs to choose from, not only to bait neji out, but to setup feints, and observe him.

I doubt genjutsu would work on neji very long but it's still in kakashi's arsenal and he can use it to catch neji of guard.

Kakashi is clearly the smarter stronger, and faster one based off feats. His hand seal speed is unreadable, and his stamina surprisingly is quite large(or he had good chakra control either way this won't come to attrition.)

Once he figures out the rotation startup and cool down time(since that's his only defence against water shark/Dragon/wall, and the lightening dog) all he'd have to do is bait it then catch him on the cool down/start up.

Example 1: force him to rotate then use hiding like mole via lightning shadow clone. Once neji stops spinning or begins to slow down the clone engages neji, poofs neji gets shocked and kakashi moves in with the finisher.(like what he did to itachi in part 2)

Example 2: Or he can Bait rotation then catch him during the start-up. Since it was already made clear that unless the user is spinning fast enough things can still get through(naruto, wooden spikes). A raikiri kunai should have no problems doing so if wood spikes can. (Like what he did to pain)


All in all this should be rather easy for kakashi. Sharingan or not.

When did I assume that? Kakashi tricked itachi and kisame at the same time with a water clone back in part 1.

Besides itachi was the one controlling the clone, the control was 1 to 1(no lag) and the only downside was a smaller chakra pool to work with. Everything else was constant.

bad comparison. From what we know kakashi didn't lose (with or without his sharingan) while young. Sasuke was stomped by lee, and naruto(caught him off guard) who were going easy on him. Heck he was still a genin when kakashi was a jounin, fighting joinin.

that's what makes it so bad. He did it with a kunai despite not being proficient in kenjutsu, and his opponent being a master in it. (It still constitutes as cqc ya know) he should have no problem against neji, since by feats he outspeeds him and has ninjutsu to keep him away.

Even if the real kakashi attacks while the clone hides, or the clone attacks while the real hides(or sits out in the open, really doesn't matter) he has no way to tell which is which. He can guess like he did against naruto back in part 1,(assuming the clone the farthest away was the real one) but even part 1 naruto punished him for that,(since the one farthest away was a clone) forcing him to fall back to rotation.

kidomaru only knew about the style,(and his info on the style was flawed) he knew nothing else. Everything else he found out(secret behind rotation, neji's range, neji's blind spot) was learned mid match. All neji learned is what kidomaru told him(webs being made of chakra, the nature of his gold armor) Neji deducing that kido was using his blind spot against him(a blind spot he already knew about) is common sense.

Here's where your wrong. Kakashi's clones have already shown the capacity to use his chakra taxing techniques(raikiri) so for a clone to use a lesser technique(water shark, water wall) it shouldn't be a problem.

Air Palm from what we know can't be performed back to back(or spammed), if it could neji would have just used air Palm to protect hinata(instead of throwing his life away), hinata would have continued using air Palm to protect naruto(instead of attempting to throw her life away) and their uncle/father wouldn't have have commented on air Palm not being fast enough.

Another problem with your idea is that he can't use it to protect all sides(like rotation does) since he's only shown the ability to use one hand at a time(two hands would be double wall Palm, an ability only his uncle has shown to do by himself.)

So if he opted for air Palm to block kakashi's tech's either the tech will be to big(Dragon/vortex) or he won't be able to block both coming from different places. Leaving rotation the only constant viable option.

that's not the reason why he's coming from the ground. The base of rotation doesn't carve deep into the ground so attacking from there would be the easiest way to get close to neji while bypassing rotation.
