As for kisame

Manda's the key to this fight, and if Orochimaru uses him, and I'm confident that he will if he's in a tight spot since he's blood-lusted, it'll be an uphill battle for Kisame from that point on. I'm not buying Kisame getting any more than one free hit on Orochimaru with Samehada; if Orochimaru really wants to dodge, I'm sure he'll be able to. I'd favor Kisame in a close quarters brawl, but I don't think Orochimaru would opt for that once he figures out Kisame's fighting style.

The only predicament that Orochimaru faces is Kisame's overpowering style: Orochimaru's usually the one that's using massive techniques, but Kisame's got him beat in that category. If it weren't for Manda, Kisame would have the upper hand because he'd be able to beat Orochimaru on his own turf.

Manda provides that extra boost that Orochimaru needs. He offers a potent offense, quick evasion, and smooth sneak attacks. Kisame hasn't got a mobile jutsu on par with Manda; he's got a few techniques that can match Manda's size, but they can't match his speed. Once Manda dodges them, Kisame's left at square one. In a pure power clash, Kisame can beat just about every character in the manga; that's not the type of fight that Manda will choose, though.
