This is ironic and depressing at the same time. The best shinobi/antihero we had was an Uchiha. And the way for shinobi was paved by Hashirama/Madara. I really like Itachi's concept of self-sacrifice. It's the best theme for a ninja, imo.
Though, I'm sure that when Naruto changes the way of shinobi towards the end of the series, there won't be any need for shinobi to sacrifice themselves for the peace anymore. Which will be a good thing, because it's certainly not a happy way to live. U_U
This picture is well-done and symbolizes quite alot. Itachi kept his promise to Shisui till the end and did succeed in protecting the village and saving the Uchiha clan's honor while alive. He took on that burden for his friend (well, of course not only for Shisui, but he was a factor in the decision).
It's also sad knowing where both of them ended up. But hey, that's the Naruverse and way of shinobi for you. At least they were better than the other Uchiha.

Well. Itachi didn't kill anyone who was younger than 10 (that's the confirmed age Itachi knew about the coup). So if there were other kids, it means Obito killed them. And that they didn't have to grow up suffering like Sasuke or be killed by Danzo later on, if there were kids around Sasuke's age...which looking at the way Kishimoto wrote the story and the evidence we have against that...there weren't any. Especially considering this story is fiction and we have people who can turn into liquid, talk to bugs, etc...that's not hard to believe. Also the fact that Sasuke was the only Uchiha in his class (and in the Academy, really) and Obito was the only Uchiha in the Academy when he went, I'd guess the clan population didn't exceed 200 people and that they didn't have many young children.

I've got to agree. It is the best opening if you ask me as well.

Yeah, I agree with that and I loved that opening, and it was very sad too because of the opening part and the Pervy Sage scene.I've got to agree. It is the best opening if you ask me as well.
