Roby does have a point.
But in my personal experience you have to be very lucky and skilled to escape it. It is not like it is impossible but you will end up changing to try and get out, and if that change is to radical you will end up ruining the friendship. I get put in the friendzone way too much. Honestly from my perspective you will not be released from it's wrath if your friend cares for someone else who seems to attract more attention.

I call it bad luck or fate. If she has no sexual interest in you or desire to see you as a partner then you should give up mate. As painful as it is, you can't force love. And if you try too hard, that might ruin the friendship.
