few other characters have overcome their problems
-Chouji manned up and fought his own teacher
-Hinata turned from barely speaking a few words to giving an entire speech
-Shikamaru the lazy and unmotivated guy now has made up his mind to be naruto's advisor

If all these characters can grow then she should too

If you're using those. Then there are several instances of her having a backbone.

I can also recall two with sasuke. But the last thing anyone needs now is conflict when they were all camping inside sasuke's susano.
