OT: When I first saw the title, I initially thought the girl was raped by 38 year old men. Turns out, it was MUCH worse than that.

Well, if you look at the history of humans divided by race, boundaries of nations, religion, etc. you'll find that there is one thing that is common and that is it's still the male dominant society. It was never the so called avatars of god that started the religion but the humans who used to follow them and most of the time, they just bended the truth according to their likings to justify their stupid acts. They stole the rights of women and made dumb people, who don't question the logic of beliefs, believe in everything they say as if they are the voice of GOD. Seriously, I believe that one should, if he is religious, only believe in the holy books, but not blindly but logically, and find his own way. And if you are an atheist, then don't just simply dis-regard them as myths before actually trying to find the truth.
As for Women thing, they have to fight for themselves.

@bold yeah, many religions were advised during the ancient times of history, especially Athens. some indulging ripping the victims heart out and shit as a method of sacrifice, slaying women in the name of their gods as it made them happy, these were ancient rituals and lead to incredible amount of fear amongst the ppl but still followed the tradition, which in no sense, is logical, at all. But regardless, was done, and practiced, seriously? :/
@bold 2 exactly, this is the problem with religion I seem to have. individuals themselves can't legitmatly comprehend or interpet the verses from the holy books and take them the wrong way which causes a whole more problems rather then solving what's already in occurance.

No worries, I understand. I am one of those guys who believes in god but doesn't really follow a particular religion. I guess you could call me a "theist". It's sad that this happened in Malaysia, as I have been there on holidays a couple of times.

Why limit yourself to India or Asia? Name calling women with demeaning words( *****, ****, hoe ) and using the word 'rape' as a joke and to lighten it's seriousness is not a trend started from India or Asia. Nor the cases of violence against women are limited ( or highest) to that continent.
