Why limit yourself to India or Asia? Name calling women with demeaning words( *****, ****, hoe ) and using the word 'rape' as a joke and to lighten it's seriousness is not a trend started from India or Asia. Nor the cases of violence against women are limited ( or highest) to that continent.

I simply stumbled upon this article this morning and the tragedy just so happens to be occured in India...sentence structure..?

Obviously, it happens in more places but it seems that places like India are adopting this rape culture trend on another level.

Hm, That's seriously not Nice, Those 38 konoyaros should be arrested. To solve this issue girls need to take personal defence training not like they can take 38 guys down LoL, they should not go alone move In a group. :/

The thing about that is, you can't expect women (and other people as anyone can be a victim) to always travel with other people. At some point in their lives, people will be alone. That should be expected. However, what should be expected in these cases is teaching people not to rape other people.

Personal defense training does nothing against rapists with training.

And as I said OP mentioned the case. And nah.. There is definitely a rise in such cases but that's not in India alone. Our media and people are quite vocal than many others. Did you even read all those articles? I doubt it. Total average of number of such crimes and total average number of such crimes per capita are two different things. Also, in India there was a cry because the cases of conviction in such cases had dropped recently to little more than 24%. But in Sweden, only 10% of them are actually convicted while it's 7nth on the list of total number of reported cases. Canada is on the 5th number while it is believed that only 6% of rape cases are reported there for women end up being blamed even there.. There is a lot more to this crime and stats than random news at one place.
There is a reason feminists issues like violence against women are not local but global issues.

Rape incidents comes out in media too much these days , yeah ! they might say it's freedom of media but they must be more responsible than they are right now , they might just looking for a story but what about the victim who faced the incident and humiliation comes after it ( i know it's a one side of it , sometimes it helped to prosecute the rapists with
everything coming out but it's what i said happens in many cases and it's a reason that some incidents don't come out )

and yes these incidents must be stopped and measures must be taken to not let things like this happening again but i don't think only prosecuting the rapists will stop it , it's like cutting the branches of the tree and roots remains , it might be better to find a way to remove the reasons for these incidents and remove the tree with the roots .
