I ain't gunna let no "goverment" take my gun
If you would read the Second Amendment, you wouldn't even be posting this Thread.
Well, yes, if civilian gun ownership was outlawed then far too many complications would be caused. Not only that, but those who still retain their access to firearms would be empowered even more. There's also the problem of people being threatened by wildlife, pets, and other animals that are aggressive and could maim or kill a human.
As you've stated, I believed regulation is the best route to take in order move towards a more secure and incident free public interface.
On another note, at a conference at an earlier date this year it was proposed to convert civilian guns to some kind of electrical platform in order for the law enforcement and other authorities to create virtually "gun free" zones or to neutralize the weapons via remote action.
The mother of this man-child alerted the police of his plot to kill two weeks prior to him doing so. He was posting revenge videos on youtube about it. The police knocked on his door talked to him and said that "he seems like a nice young man", had they gone further and would've checked his house they would've found evidence to detain him, wether it be to a psyche ward, or jail.
while you are right, you have to think of the time period this amendment was written. Back in those days, people actually needed guns to defend their properties and families from Frontier living. Constant wildlife threats, bandits, an retaliatory Natives were all very real threats then and having a gun was a necessity.
I don't think our forefathers foresaw mental illnesses and future generations using this right to walk into schools and starts blowing people away when they created this Amendment. While I am against owning a gun, I do understand the importance of the 2nd Amendment.
But still just looking at gun related murders in the US. Some of the highest in the world. This is not just crimes in general I am talking here but specifically gun related violence. You just don't see in other countries. It's the price we Americans pay for the right to bare I suppose.
Sad really...
Interesting, might research this sometime.Yeah I posted something about that a while ago. They would need an electronic bracelet that had to be within ten inches of the gun, in order for it to be discharged. The NRA, and gun owners started to complain about which made the shops carrying them decide to get rid of them.
Exactly. So many people fap to the constitution that don't realize it's completely outdated.
The fact is, the constitution was written for a different lifestyle in a different time whose standards do not apply today, however because of the wide acceptance it has, it is now impossible to go back on.
Gun ownership is like alcohol sale. If the government could ban it they would, but it's impossible at this point.
to many ignorant people and kids don't understand that taking away a person born/human right is wrong.
also note people don't understand that it makes no difference who has a gun as guns are neutral its the person who has the gun who makes it good/evil purposes.
rather you truly believe that people who are "normal" can only own a gun then you are truly stupid since anyone is capable of using it the same was a insane person would use
You mean the right to free speech?
He meant the second amendment. The right to bare arms.
OT: the purpose of the second amendment was made as a concept of the Revolutionary war. It was so if the new government were needed to be overthrown the citizens could do so.
In my opinion, people should have a right and deserve to hold arms. The actions of a few shouldn't punish the majority.
If a man went and killed everyone in a building because he felt that's what he got from reading Naruto, should we ban Naruto or even more so Manga from the US? 9/11 was caused by Islamic Extremists... Does that Gove us a right to punish Muslims?
Not at all. The event happens because of the individual not the tool/series/religion. Instead of taking something away like we are children, we should work together to better prevent such scenarios from ever occuring.

I don't think that's a valid comparison...If a man went and killed everyone in a building because he felt that's what he got from reading Naruto, should we ban Naruto or even more so Manga from the US? 9/11 was caused by Islamic Extremists... Does that Gove us a right to punish Muslims?

Starting to doubt it with what's been happening lately. It's not just a simple, "check backgrounds" anymore, looks can be extremely deceiving. Your neighbor could have a perfect record, no therapy, signs of mental unstableness, etc, yet one day they can shoot up everyone in your neighborhood. The world is unpredictable nowadays.
Gun laws don't stop naughty people from getting guns, they can just steal them.
Gun laws only prevent the good people from getting guns and protecting themselves from the naughty people.
