Don't mix two different characters and turn it into an excuse for Sasuke actions. Two wrongs don't make a right. You can't mix both of their characters actions because they both had different ideals. Gaara had no control over him and at his life the only person that was close to him was Shukaku. So him being under Shukaku influence brainwash him a lot. Orochimaru also play a big role brainwashing the Sand to attack the leaf by setting the leaf up. What Sasuke did, he was fully aware of his actions.
