Well Naruto is related to Hashirama regardless because their clans are distant blood relatives. But in terms of a more direct family heirarchy, if his grandmother was Mito's daughter, then yes Naruto is related strongly to Hashirama since he is the father of Mito's child. But any other form of relation that doesn't involve One of Naruto's grandparents being a child of Mito but another family member would only result in Naruto tracing his distinct family tree back to Mito only by blood. Hashirama in that instance would be related to him by marriage, which wouldn't make them real relatives, only legal ones, much like in real life.

The tricky part here is that incest comes into play and makes relations in Naruto a bit strange

^^
They're related regardless

i stated that we all know they are related, I was just wondering if it were possible Naruto was a direct blood descendant of the first Hokage and not barely through marriage. & Though it's state that Senju and Uzamaki have strong blood relations, is it possibe that Naruto was and offspring of an offspring of an offspring of an offspring if Hashirama and Mito?

Tsunade isn't Naruto's mother

yeah Kushina is. you seem to not know how family lineage works. everyone has sides of family, one from father one from mother. We don't know a lot about Minato but we know a lot about Kushina and the Uzamaki clan plus their relation to the senju.

This theory is a stretch, but it is worth addressing. Currently, I would not say that Naruto is related to Hashirama because of Mito. Rather, I would say that Naruto's relationship to Hashirama is due to Tobirama, who is Hashirama's brother.

My opinion here is that Naruto is a descendant of Tobirama through Minato. While I don't know exactly this, there has to be a reason for Minato being a little Tobirama from childhood. Besides, I think Minato feats perfectly the role of Tobirama's grandchild, on whose head Hashirama wanted to swear when dealing with Madara's case. See how things are about Minato and Tobirama.

(1) Minato seems to be under the tutelage of Hiruzen, even before Minato became Hokage. This make Hiruzen someone who look after the orphan grandchild of his Sensei, Tobirama.

(2) Even as child, Minato's Shunshin was beast enough to best some Kumo jounin. This ties him with Tobirama who was said to be the fastest shinobi in his era.

(3) Minato can be said to have inherited Tobirama's signature Jutsus - the FTG. This jutsus is efficient only with their chakra, and actually seems to work just like a KKG. Without Minato's chakra, you need three Jounins trained by him to use the jutsus. It just show how the Jutsus is tied to the blood of the family - in this case Tobirama's.

(4) Minato was genius enough to best Orochimaru on Hokage proposal candidate. Note that this happened even before Orochimaru's incident was discovered. Minato inherited the will of fire on a scale larger than Orochimaru's along with his knowledge of Jutsus. Just notice that Orochimaru was already a Sannin.

etc.

I think there are already many hints that tie Minato to Tobirama, along with Sensing techniques. Actually, in the Obito's chronicle, the teamworks there was more like a family business - Naruto+Tobirama, Naruto+Minato, Minato+Tobirama, etc. The teamwork was naturally tied to Tobirama and his Jutsus - that is FTG and Kage Bushin.

i like where you are going with this but. wouldnt it make more sense for tobirama's family tree to travel toward the white fang? idk but its certainly something to think about.

that can't possibly be true, considering Kushina was a full blooded Uzumaki.

I think it's already been said, but this is impossible. Kushina had no relation to Hashirama, thus Naruto doesn't. If she was say the niece of Mito she wouldn't be related to Hashirama, she would have to be the offspring of Hashirama and Mito which she clearly isn't as she wouldn't have lived in Uzushiogakure when Mito was in Konoha. Still, she might be slightly related to Mito, but Hashirama isn't to Naruto. Well he technically is because of the Uzumaki and Senju are "distant relatives", but other than that they have no such relation.

This literally blew my mind. You just opened opened my mind to a truly great assessment of facts and a worthy theory.

that was probably the most accurate answer I've gotten.
