First off, let me clarify something here: ALL shippers are bad about this. Extrapolating whatever their shipping moment is from something that isn't remotely related.
Second, it's a shonen manga and Kishi says he can't write women or romance well. So don't expect anything amazing from the female half (...feminine male half?) of your chosen ship.
That said, I think it's utterly retarded that everyone is clinging to the "NaruHina" moment in the manga. Nope- unless Naruto became telepathic, in which case he'd obviously have the edge against anyone- including Madara. Hinata mentally called out to Naruto because she couldn't move (I won't even get into how hard I facepalmed). The next bit shows Naruto with a "!!!" and panicked look as he is about to run off.
Everyone hangs onto the Hinata bit and forgets that it shows EVERY OTHER NINJA being wrapped up by the tree- THAT is the cause of Naruto's panic. He can't suddenly hear Hinata mentally or sense his name being called. It's just writing technique, to have one of the romantic interests be the final panel to show what's happening before switching to the hero and thus create suspense.
Everyone can calm the hell down now.
