You must be registered for see links
to host the contest. She is the host, meaning her word is, in what concerns the contest, law. I'm still the moderator in charge of the contest so issues can still be brought to me if needed.Anywho, welcome Akasha and thank you!

NB is a large community though, it's harder to moderate and avoid such behaviors. Also, being a member for more than a year here, I don't doubt that there are members that would have such behavior, I have seen it happen many times, it wouldn't surprise me.
I've seen contests in other forums (well forum tbh) that the host takes part and there's never been a problem, or any doubt that he/she could influence the results or rules.

I've roamed the webs far longer than you and trust me, its an actually very mild issue here in NB. This forum you speak of must be the exception to the rule or, because you don't see it, has such issues hidden from the communities eyes. The web is a place where people transform themselves a bit in regards to that.

Alright peops,after reading through this thread I went with Spring theme this month although I wasn't sure if I should go with Spring or Culture but in the end decided to dedicate Spring theme to May.
I wanted to ask you if you wanted to make some changes to the contest? I didn't want to make much changes when it came to PhoTM #5 as I wanted to talk to you firstly about your opinions.
My first question would be,is submission time too long or too short? Would you like to make it shorter,maybe 2 weeks and not 3 or do you maybe want to make it longer? Imo 3 weeks is a long period but some might disagree.
When it comes to voting does some of you want for it to last less then 7 days? Maybe 3-4?
Are there any other changes that you might want to implant?
And one last thing,please give your theme suggestions as much as you can U_U.

When it comes to NB must be presented,I'd want to keep it that way and the only reason as this is connecting NB with RL. But maybe creating in future one of the submission threads without needing to have NB mark on your pic. How does that sound?

Well, having to put NB somewhere might heavily restrict the types of photos we can take, and makes it harder overall to get a good one, especially with the Spring theme. But lets see how it turns out.

Well...About the NB thingy...It´s a little bit annoying to me since I think things that are espontaneous and not "armed" or make something a certain way on purpose. But it´s understandable of why "NB" must be mentioned.
In my opinion, it´s not because it´s NB connected with RL, since the other contests is not really NB connected with RL.
About the theme...It´s autumn here...How am I going to do a Spring theme picture >_<

As for the submission 3 week are ideal for me. Sometimes it's hard to get the pic you wear even if you have a concept on mind.Plus, I've noticed that outdoor pics are quite famous, which imo needs more time to get.

I think 3 weeks for submision and 1 week of voting are perfect for a monthly contest.
And I'm fine with the NB thingy. It is restrictive but at least it promotes creativity

I was thinking of having every month a different theme although we can make it no theme once,probs during summer.
