I finished watching Code Geass lately and as I am, not beeing able to stop thinking about this anime, I just wanted to start a litte discussion about it.
First off I have to say that despite I haven't watched many Animes yet I have to say that probobly only a rare amount of Animes is going to be able to compete or be better than Code Geass.
The Characters personalities, the developement of them, the plot. Everything was just top-notch. Especially my now favourite Character of all time - C.C.
And the end was just the icing on the cake. I even spoiled myself somehow reading that Lelouch is going to die, but I didn't expect that kind of a death. All in all, Code Geass is just one of those animes that want you to have your memory erased so you can watch it again to feel the same feelings again....
I also think Lelouch isn't dead and C.C. is still immortal like he is now... and I know this has probably been discussed a hundred times but I just want to hear your opinions about it
And here is my theory why:
Many people say the directors want the viewer to decide whether he lives or doesn't. There is also an interview with the directors who say that Lelouch is dead. But honestly... I think the director just wants to fool us around, he also said the relationship between C.C. and Lelouch is noting special, but how do you want to explain all the events that have taken place between them and that she kissed him and smiled for the first time in a long, long while?^^ It's just random thoughts but non the less...
Whether he really died and sacrificed hiself for peace or he only died symbolic for the peace doesn't matter to me. So I accept both of these endings... just like the one where he lives way more... probably because I'm a little ****** and want to see C.C. and Lelouch beeing happy. :yayy:
So it is has gotten a little long I know, but this was just all I was thinking about since finishing the Anime. And I know that this all is just a theory and we have no true evidence of this, we only saw Lelouch beeing killed, but the theory is plausible.

And here is my theory why:
- C.C. was seen praying in the curch, because Lelouch was going to be immortal and cried most likely because of the fate of the eternal life. She was saying "The price you are going to pay for using your Geass on them is a dear one..."
- The last scene on the carriage proves it even more. C.C. wasn't talking to herself, she never was, not even in the whole series. She was always talking to Marianne who was telepathically connected to her, because she was still alive and got the Geass from C.C. She tilts her head back towards the driver and talked to Lelouch, the carriage driver, as she was asking "Right, Lelouch?"
- - C.C. was always alone and never had people who really loved her. The poeple she gave the Geass to always started hating her because of what she did. But not Lelouch, that's why she started having feelings for him, like she said, she had never met a man like him before. And she was finally happy that somebody truely loved her, which was also her true wish, it wasn't really to die, but it was to be loved, that's why she also got the Geass that made people love here. And I don't think after loosing Lelouch, the first man who truely loved her, she would be happy lying on the cart, right? Only when Lelouch was on her side, right? The only time she was smiling was when she talked with Lelouch. She was also talking on how the Geass, the power of kings, would condemn you to a live of solitude but that wasn't quite right. That was said because C.C. always lost the people she loved and now Lelouch is immortal as well they are sharing this fate, and therefore they are no longer lonely.
- Early in the anime series, Nunnally gives her brother Lelouch a pink origami crane, which was taught to her by the japanese maid. This origami crane can be found on the cart next to CC. You may say "it's CC's to remind her of Lelouch". But let's be logical. That crane was a special keepsake to Lelouch, and it's very very doubtful that he even showed it to anyone else beforehand. Logic dictates that he's alive and takes that origami around with him to remind him of Nunnally, while he lives forever with CC.
- - Lelouch got the Code as he killed charles, he obtained the highest level of the geass, which gives you the power to obtain the code, he did not kill him directly but he still did by forcing the gods to kill him, or he got it as Charles choked him. And the code first got activated as he was killed by Suzaku, that also explains why Nunnally had the memory exchange when Lelouch was dying in front of her for the first time. And you can have a code and a Geass at the same time, Lelouch got the Code from C.C. but the Code from Charles -> therefore "Code Geass"
- Also everybody with a Code in this series has double letters. C.C. -> C2. V.V. -> V2. In Japan they call L.L. (Lelouch Lamperouge) R.R. -> R2.
- C.C. didn't loose her Code, she just "locked" in her self as Charles was trying to take it. and afterwards Marianne activated it again, because as Charles was activating the Sword of akasha we were able to see her sign on the forehead again and she didn't loose it afterwards. In the ending you are just not able to see the sign but she still does have it.
