I've been put in the position where I didn't have my parents and because of mental illness I had and still do sometimes have trouble communicating and I was pretty overweight. So throughout elementary and a bit of middle school, I felt like everyone hated me just because of what I was (fat and shy) and got left out of everything.

So I can relate with naruto, especially when he hated how he couldn't trust how people acted so nicely around him when they chose to view him positively when he was still the same kid. As by grade 8, I lost 80lbs and people started talking to me and being nicer, and though I accepted it, it was extremely hard for me to trust people since I was still the same person before.
