The lava created due to your clone's fire jutsu fell into the fissure I created. Think of it like this:
-- -- <-- ground level
..V.. <-- your lava goes underground and falls into the fissure (the V) There's no way your tornado could pick up any lava if it is all in the fissure.

Yeah, I know that. But it would be more difficult to defend against it if it had lava mixed with it, like you said.
A fissure is basically a massive crack in the earth--a very deep crack. xD The lava goes down it--way down.
