For those who believes itachi scared of jiraiya

There's no manga fact that suggests that Itachi wasn't afraid.
The ONLY manga fact available shows that Itach + Kisame confronted Jiraiya in his own turf and thus had to flee, and even use a very powerful/chakra draining/eye-straining jutsu to escape.

Itachi didn't want to harm anyone... he stopped everyone who tried to attack him... but didn't cause damage to others (except for kakashi)

actually no, he was going to kill Asuma, Kakashi and Kurenai the moment they discovered why he and Kisame were there (for the Kyuubi/Naruto) until Gai showed up.

Itachi is my second favorite character in this series but, we all know that he wouldn't mind getting his hands dirty every now and then :

1. he gave his chakra to kill Gara.

2. killed an entire clan.

3. was going to kill Kakashi and the rest if Gai didn't show up.

this excuse doesn't make any sense AND Itachi had one last Amaterasu in him so why didn't use it on Jiraiya if it was that simple ??

OT : Itachi wasn't scared from Jiraiya but, we have two explanations for what happened, either Kishi was seriously implying that Jiraiya can infact take on both of them (in part 1) or people don't really get this Manga/what the writer is trying to say and use logic that doesn't apply to this series.

Actually, a direct Amaterasu WOULD have killed Jiraiya-especially since at that time,Jiraiya had ZERO knowledge of the jutsu, and that further adds credence to the theory that Itachi was trying to avoid killing konoha shinobi(although I am sure that if he had no choice, he would have)..........

No, the excuse makes perfect sense. First off, it's possible that Itachi knew that there were people coming(although I don't know for sure) Second of all, Itachi was more focused on torturing sasuke(for reasons we only found out later) and not on Jiraiya(and tsukuyomi wastes a lot of chakra, so another possibility is that he wanted to conserve as much chakra as possible-as amaterasu is also chakra taxing). And no, there's zero evidence that Jiraiya had any counter to it-especially with no intel.

Wow how dumb is this post.

First off enton flames are not different from Amaterasu flames, enton is just a technique which manipulates them.

Doesnt matter, if the flames are that hot even having his hand flamed, he should be screaming but he isnt. Also obviously he had to cut his arm off but Cee was not quick with taking it off and A stood there with a flaming hand for quite some time.

why the hell do you keep mentioning Jiraiya's exposure to Amaterasu (never talked about that) ?? and why would Itachi conserve chakra if Jiraiya is the last opponent standing in their way and can expose them or even worse go after them ?? he used it to escape ......................

and you still didn't answer my question, Itachi was ready to KILL Kakashi and the rest (leaf Shinobi's) and that's a fact that must be considered/you can't ignore that so what stopped him from killing Jiraiya ??

Itachi's a shinobi. That's pretty normal, they all get their hands dirty at one time or another. The three points you stated are entirely irrelevant to the topic of this thread. For the first, he couldn't blow his cover as a double spy and Deidara had already captured Gaara-if Itachi refused, the Akatsuki would likely kill him anyway and they'd just find a replacement. The second, his clan was going out either way, whether he raised his hand against it or not. The third, he told them twice to stay away from him and even Kakashi was wondering why Itachi didn't kill him, when he easily could do so. He was only willing to kill them after Kakashi started blabbering on about how he knew the Akatsuki's plans and Kisame was standing right there...what was Itachi supposed to do? Tell Kisame that they should leave right after Kakashi made those statements?

The logic does apply to the series. Itachi was a Konoha shinobi, he didn't want to take down one of their strongest ninjas if he had a chance to avoid it. He took his chance and left. It's completely illogical to think that what Itachi said was true.

Kishimoto wrote for a reason Kakashi wondering why Itachi didn't kill him and later on Obito's statement about Itachi being there not for conflict, but just to make sure that Danzo heard of his presence.

itachi is strong don't underestimate the power of his sharingan...or maybe I should wake u up from ur sleep. have u forgotten what he did to kakashi, oro, pain, obito with the sealed amaterusu in sasuke eyes. think of shisui eyes in his possession and the power it has. or what the third said about him being hokage. itachi will solo jiraya if they should clash, as much as I want jiraya to win, I can not deny this honest truth

Sadly no. You see, the samurai were not the intended target-it was Ay. Hence the flames merely travelled to the samurai.(plus the samurai were wearing metal armour........) Sasuke stopped looking at the samurai, hence the amaterasu wasn't focused on them. A focused amaterasu burns at an alarming rate-the frog stomach was burned in an instant, as was Danzo, or even Sasuke's katon. The only time when it burned kind of slow was against bee(but the hachibi is huge, has high durability, and it was sasuke's first use.)

ok wait a second, you think attacking/trying to kill Kakashi, Asuma and kurenai (a group of Konoha's strongest) was for his cover and escaping a fight against ONE opponent when they had their target (Naruto) won't blow his cover/you think it's justified ??

you see i seriously considered every possibility here and it appears to me that Kishi was infact implying that it's an even fight.

Kisame is the weakest of the three (admitted inferiority) so there's no point in talking about him.

BTW i was just talking about/discussing what the writer was trying to say (considering everything that happened), and i don't like the excuses that don't apply to what happened/the painful ignoring of some facts.
