Do you think like in most fictitious instances of people having barrier powers that Bartolomeo's become stronger when the size is reduced, i.e. if he could make a barrier as small as a fist and block exactly where a punch would hit do you think it would hurt the attacker more so than a generic barrier wall?

Assume for a second it does and he can, imagine him with observation Haki. How hard to beat do you think he would be then.

I hope by EoS he can do like Sue Richards(nee. Storm) and place a barrier inside a living being. Bartolomeo touches someone and inserts a barrier than expands it and boom. That'd be a strong power.

Idk Gore isnt oda but the first part, CoA is a barrier and it makes your punches stronger so hell yea, if he mastered his df he would be a monster.

But thats every df tbh every df with mastery is hell worthy.

I think that's as small as it gets really.

"Is it stronger while small?"

I wouldn't think it worked that way, I think the harder the hit, the stronger the crash.

Typically though a smaller surface area provides a greater resistance. If you take a board 10 inches long it's easier to break then a board that's 4 inches long. It's the same idea.

Impulse is a calculation of surface area and duration of the transfer of force

basically when those to values become smaller the destructive force increases.

Like how if you get punched by ride backwards with the punch you decrease the damage to your body, simply because you are extending the time that the punch is delivered over.

Similarly if their fist delivered the same force over a smaller surface area (not the fist but the target) they would experice the same effect.

Hate to bring up science but yea thats pretty much it.

Idk about all that but I know from karate and personal experience, punching a longer board is easier to break then a short board. As the board gets shorter it gets harder to break. If you break a stick in half and try to keep breaking it in half eventually it will get so small you can't put enough pressure on the area provided to produce enough leverage to break it.

We've already seen Bart's barriers do damage but we don't really know if it's reflective damage or just impact damage from hitting the equivalent of a wall. If it's impact damage then a smaller barrier should equal a denser and more durable barrier which he needs if he plans to fight some of the stronger characters.

The boards are due to leverage more than change in sturdiness. Infact the wood is strongest when its big. you just have good leverage to break it..
