If Deidara and Danzo's fights are not thinking ahead and coming up with Quick-silver strategies, then I don't know what is. Sasuke only saw Danzo check his Sharingan for time and he figured out the whole thing whilst fighting and being under severe burden because of MS.

Whoever comes up with things faster means that his brain processes information faster. Goes to show that this base has little clue about how a brain works.

Sasuke is better in battle while Shikamaru is better before the batlle IMO Overall intelligence Shikamaru takes it from what you listed I think Sasuke takes very category IMO

That doesn't say Sasuke is smarter than Shikamaru in any way.

I can look up to someone in my class and still be smarter than them.
That Scan was completely irrelevant.​

Shikamaru figuring out Hidan's technique is hardly a monumental feat, given Hidan's loud mouth and his visible alteration in appearance, his flamboyant gestures etc. It'[s much difficult to figure out an opponent who is composed in a battle and gives away nothing.

I don't know how many times it needs to be said that Shikumaru isn't a tactician. He's a strategist. I think people are getting the two mixed up.

Shiki ran away in the woods...it takes him a while to figure out all that stuff, Sasuke just does it in his head.

Dude figuring Limbo when you can see it is easy as hell, Sasuke saw 2 Madaras appearing and then after sometime they combined again so he just explained to Naruto that, it's not freacking rocket science

He is a loud-mouth, in fact, he cannot keep his mouth shut. His techniques are not subtle. I mean, who in god's name could have ever noticed that giant circle he made with sacrificial blood? Danzo and Deidara were not belching out information about how their abilities work. That is what makes Sasuke's feats better. Heck, had Kakuzu attacked, Shikamaru never would have reviewed what happened.

He needs time to analyze his opponents. Sasuke does it on the spot. Let's get real here ...

I don't know which manga you are reading, but Sasuke formed a strategy right there after noticing the affects of Limbo.

Not always. His fight with Hidan showed that he planned before the battle even started. I get your point though. As I posted Sasuke is good for thinking on the spot. But Shikamaru doesn't lag in this catagory either. He is able to come up with stall tactics that at least allow him the time to think, plus he thinks ahead for the worst scenarios and then executes his plans as if the enemy will see through then and still have another 5 plans to compensate for it.

Yea I agree just intelligence wise I say Shikamaru any day. Most of his matches though the opponent allows him time to do it or he has back to just observe the abilities of others which he devises out countless strategies. For the Hidan fight where he won he had already observed everything and was already prepared, the first fight they had we say how badly they were out matched.
