Shikamaru vs Sasuke

We know Sasuke destroys him in combat, so I'm only interested in comparing their tactical and analytic skills, observation, innovation, etc.

Compare Shikamaru vs Temari, Shikamaru vs. Hidan/Kakazu with Sasuke vs. Deidara and Sasuke vs. Danzou.

How do they measure against each other?

Shikamaru catches Sasuke in Shadow Possession and plucks out one of his Sharingan eyes and trades it with his own. He does it for the other eye and then easily destroys Sasuke with Amaterasu.

That's how he wins 1v1, but in mental battle skills, Shikamaru is far superior.​

Shikamaru. Sasuke is good at thinking and analyizing on the spot. But Shikamaru thinks like a game of chess and thinks 10 steps ahead.

So Shikamaru in this catagory.

Shikamaru has nothing on Sasuke when it comes to On-the-Spot strategies. Shikamaru has been shown to sit back and analyze first. There is no contest here. Not to mention Shikamaru used to look up to Sasuke.

Sasuke's genius stems only from his Sharingan, thus, he doesn't have pure intelligence, like Shika.

Not always. His fight with Hidan showed that he planned before the battle even started. I get your point though. As I posted Sasuke is good for thinking on the spot. But Shikamaru doesn't lag in this catagory either. He is able to come up with stall tactics that at least allow him the time to think, plus he thinks ahead for the worst scenarios and then executes his plans as if the enemy will see through then and still have another 5 plans to compensate for it.

Sasuke last intelligence stat is 3,5, Shikamaru had 5 when he 13, you can't even compare

Shikamaru could understand Hidan's abilities, all Sasuke did was stating what he saw :yeah:

I'm not saying he's dumb but you can't really compare with Shikamaru
