So Sasuke ate Trafalgar Law's devil fruit, I see.
Ha~ But I do like how kishi gives us two shortcomings of the technique (temporary loss of tomoe ring as ssjelf pointed out, and range limit) the same chapter he introduces it, staying true with what he said earlier about every technique having its weaknesses.

Nice theory, I think its a fact now, no doubt
Thanks~ If this is indeed how sasuke's left eye works he's gained a powerful new ability that effectively elevates his "speed" to new heights, among other things. And I for one am glad that this time sasuke's calmly putting his new ability to efficient and strategic use without laughing maniacally about "gaining new power" ha~

Kishi made an effort to draw many rocks of different sizes on the battleground in those couple of panels. I think Sasuke simply switched place with a random rock or even pebble to his right.
Not really.
You focus too much on the way of functioning of Hiraishin and don't consider that Sasukes Jutsu is a Dōjutsu actually. He can port himself at any point in reach.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I think when Madara's pierced, the fact that sasuke appears EXACTLY WHERE THE SWORD HAD BEEN STUCK (notice the shape of the rock and the tree in the background, as well as naruto's relative position) is key to all this. I think at that moment Madara realized the limits of sasuke's magical "relocation jutsu". I think the precision of sasuke and his sword's positions is very important.

Also the technique isn't really like Hiraishin at all if you think about it, for the latter isn't about "switching" at all, I was merely making an observation that this could be sasuke's counterpart skill to naruto's FTG (a skill he'll most likely learn by the end if he hasn't already somehow). And about Dojutsu space time jutsu, we already have Kamui, so the fact that it's Dojutsu doesn't really contradict this hypothesis.
