I was bored today, so felt like making a character profile kinda thingy on Naruto and Sasuke, i.e. how Naruto and Sasuke's character has changed from the first chapter until now.

Sasuke

Sasuke, was initially a very normal and peace loving boy. His achievements were overshadowed by Itachi, and his father's attention was focused on his elder brother. But, Itachi, realized that and gave him his time like an elder brother would. Everything went on normal, and it seemed that Sasuke was a determined boy, who inherited the will of fire and loved his elder brother dearly. Then, came the Uchiha clan massacre. That was a turning point in Sasuke's life. Some kind of trigger. He was barely 8 years old and he witnessed his entire clan being slaughtered in front of his eyes, including his parents. A normal, peace loving boy, turned insane and at that moment, he tried to hurt/kill Itachi, as he felt utter disbelief over the thing he just witnessed. Luckily enough, there was no one who corrupted Sasuke at that point. He was in the ninja academy, and was still hell bent on revenge. His time with Team 7 almost dissolved his hatred, but then came Orochimaru into play. He tempted Sasuke with revenge and power, and corrupted him. It was like something that was lying dormant, had awakened again. Eventually, he awakened the 3T Sharingan and fled the village with Oro. Orochimaru was a means by which Sasuke could dissolve his hatred and avenge his clan. Then came the battle with Itachi, wherein his brother lied to him incessantly. And he orchestrated his own death. Sasuke's hatred was finally almost over, and it seemed he would return to the Leaf. But, then Obito fed Sasuke the partial truth about his identity and the clan's massacre and Sasuke came to know that his brother was actually a double agent, and even protected him against Obito, by sealing his Amaterasu into him as a fail safe. The truth about his brother, awakened his Mangekyou Sharingan and his revenge went skyhigh once more, this time a lot more. The hatred he held for Itachi, turned into hatred that he held for Danzo and the village elders. The MS led him into darkness as he almost killed off Karin without any hesitation and completed his mission of killing Danzo. Then came Team 7, reunited. Sasuke was unfazed as he didn't hesitate to kill off Sakura. Eventually, he almost went blind and got his brothers' eyes implanted onto him as he awakened the EMS gradually. Then appeared Edo Itachi, as Sasuke was craving for answers, confused as to what was the truth. They fought off Kabuto like a real team, and then Itachi showed him his memories, telling him the truth about the massacre. Sasuke, shocked on confirming the truth, was confused as to what to do, as he seeked answers from the previous generation of legends. As selfish as this seemed, this did help the alliance in the war. Naruto and Itachi couldn't change Sasuke even after their massive efforts, but how did Hashirama change Sasuke in a matter of seconds? It was because, Hashirama was the one who told him about how shinobi came into existence and how the system of villages formed. It seemed Sasuke turned good once more and swore to protect his brother's work, everything he had set into motion. It was as if he finally realized what Itachi's sacrifice meant for. And, then he proceeded to the alliance in war, and declared that he had ambitions to be Hokage, which obviously enough shocked everyone around him, as they knew a missing-nin couldn't become Hokage. Jugo and Oro, however, felt Sasuke's actions shady. Later in the war, Madara almost killed him off, as in his last breaths, he still swore to protect's Itachi's idealogies. And, he got a powerup from the great Sage itself, as he is fighting off Madara currently, using his brilliant strategy against him.

However, Sasuke's character is still mysterious, as we don't know what Kishi has in store for him. It seems he won't turn evil again, but nothing is certain. Sasuke can be easily manipulated, the only bad quality in him, along with his arrogance and ego.

Naruto

Naruto Uzumaki, the son of the 4th Hokage, a prodigy, contained the monstrous Nine Tails in him, as the villagers shunned him for the actions of the Kyuubi. To get attention, he would often play pranks and defaced the great Hokage statues, being one of his favorite pranks. He also specifically loved ramen. He was goofy, and very foolish, as he lacked general intelligence, and as Kakashi remarked, he learnt everything from experience, rather than learning it from just listening and viewing. Even though he had the Kyuubi in him, he had the will of never giving up, which was evident in the Chuunin exams. He had the quality of changing people, as Gaara, Neji and several others have realized Naruto's words. He was a boy who's aspiration was to be Hokage. In near-death situations, the Kyuubi would corrupt him, and influence him with hatred, as he would become a mindless monster, destroying anything that came his way. His rampages would be controlled by Yamato, as he trained to get stronger. He helped several Akatsuki as he was becoming stronger. Then came Pein, who questioned him about the concept of peace, a very complex concept. He almost killed off Hinata, as Naruto, like the old times, went apeshit and transformed eventually into half 9-tails, as in a chance meeting, the ghost of his father, stopped the Kyuubi's influence over him. He finally defeated the 6 Pein bodies and questioned Nagato himself, about peace. Hearing Nagato's story, he said that he didn't know a definite answer to achieving real peace, but he would work hard to find an answer, as Nagato realized the child of prophecy was indeed Naruto, as he revived the villagers he killed. Then came the great ninja war, as he trained to overcome his inner hatred and succeeded, as his mother's ghost helped him fight the Kyuubi. He became even more stronger, and easily defeated tons of Zetsu. Then came Obito, as his mask broke, as along with Madara, they revived the Juubi and started making it kill off the alliance, and eventually the HQ, as deaths started in the war. Neji, believing in Naruto, protected him from Obito's Mokuton, as he got impaled by the wood stick, dying in the process. Naruto snapped, and he almost turned the bad guy, as Hinata intervened slapping him and slapping him out of the trauma, as he regained his will to fight again. Later in the war, Madara extracted Kurama out of him, as he was on the verge of death, saved somehow, as he met the Sage in his subconscious. He came to know that Indra reincarnated and Ashura in himself, as he appeared on the battlefield again, almost a semi-God, as together with Sasuke, he's trying his best to defeat Madara.

Now, Naruto's character is kinda mysterious too, as we don't know, how he aims to cleanse the cycle of hatred. Killing off Madara, would only spark another cycle of hatred. I like how Kishi maintained his goofy character throughout the series.

It seems very illogical, that two 16 year olds are against a war head, who's literally killed off thousands of shinobis and has much more battle experience. However, both, Naruto and Sasuke have equally faced a lot of shit in their life, and they've come to the top, with hardwork and I believe it's possible, for even a 16 year old to understand the concept of peace, this shows how mature Naruto and Sasuke are. Also, in my country, there have been kings who were as young as 13. Naruto and Sasuke, have lost their parents, etc.and been in a war, plus they were also almost killed. A near death experience is what matured them a lot. In short, they're prodigies of their generations, and I don't believe it's due to Indra or Ashura. It's due to their own talent and hardwork, even though Sasuke and Naruto were given powerups. It's also the fact, that this manga is shonen. However, I personally think, this war needs a lot of despair.

*Phew* this was one hell of a wallie, please give your suggestions and tell me if I missed something of their characters.

Great work! Never would have done so much work tbh.
Yeah I like how Naruto is still goofy but also has grown up. And Sasuke is as cool as always. But I like it to see a little bit more emotion in him now.

Nice Work!
If I Ever where to Have to Describe Naruto or Sasuke to A Friend. This is what i will use!
Thanks people. I made this thread in an attempt to stop the character bashing, i.e. things like "Naruto is gay", "Sasuke is emo", etc. People don't see the entirety behind it, I always compare the situations in Naruto to real life situations, and think accordingly, how one would act in such a situation.

So what you are basically trying to say is that Sasuke > Naruto.
Refrain from bringing that "Sasuke>Naruto" or "Naruto>Sasuke" bs into my post please. I don't want any flamewars or unnecessary trolling. Seems like one can't make a thread in Naruto section without posts such as yours.

Bolded: I like a couple of those things about them. Really nice thread and I think it's right for you to place it in the NMS.

how he aims to achieve the cycle of hatred. Killing off Madara, would only spark another cycle of hatred
ah, how?
This concept is just like in Code Geass. Lelouch becomes the villain, unites everyone in the world against him, and lets the freedom hero Zero kill him, thus ending the entire cycle of hatred, and all the united people maintain peace through meeting/discussion. If the parallel method worked out there, why not in Naruto?

This is a very good Thread since days, and only what a Sasuke Fan tries is, to ruin the Thread with unnecessary comments ! WooooW

Nāruto@ Great Work =D
great amazing good work
Thank you, both of you. ^^

Thanks man. I intentionally placed it in the NMS. Placing it in the NDS would ruin my thread in seconds. xD

My bad, I meant he aims to cleanse the cycle of hatred.
Killing off Madara wouldn't solve things, as technically, they're killing him. In the future, someone again may go apeshit and start a war once more. This is a really complex concept, as I don't know how Kishimoto would deal with this. In the real world, true peace can never be achieved as long as humans exist.

No one just went "apeshit" for no reason. There were roots (Madara- Uchiha surpression//Obito- Inevitable negative situations//Sasuke- Itachi's suffering) and clear enough, this shinobi war is meant to prevent such roots from sprouting again. But gah, actually achieving "true peace" would be scary and weird. I imagine it happening with the chakra-understanding method replacing the chakra-power method=no more ninja. But that's too ____. I am curious as well how he will pull it off.

True enough. However, as long as shinobis possess power, someone may get corrupted and start a war, my bad, I shouldn't have used the word, "apeshit". Yea, I loved how Naruto manga evolved from Naruto trying to become Hokage, to the concept of peace. It's a very complex thing to achieve, and I don't know what Kishi will do.

Damn! You must have been very bored, couldn't find anything moe productive to do? As for Sasuke, one thing I hate about him was how he always was trying to kill Naruto as if the latter had done anything to him other than wanting him to become his old friend. The whole emo style annyoed me at many moments. But yes, Sasuke's character is very intriguing indeed but at the same time that's why he's so annoying, even now he was imagining of a photo of his former team in whih he was slashing naruto's face! DAFUC?! Why?!

As for Naruto, well he is indeed perfect, and he has matured a lot from he was just an annoying brat with no logic.

My vacations are going on, and I do productive things too. :|
Yea, what I think is, that Sasuke wanted to kill off Naruto, so that he wouldn't be a hindrance to his goal of killing Itachi. Also, I think another possibility is that Itachi told him about the MS during the massacre, so Sasuke wanted to eliminate his best friend, hence gaining the MS to kill off Itachi.
