So, is Naruto superior to even 8 Gates Gai? Or does Naruto get a leg through his chest?

Pretty much. If Madara had his other eye he would have easily beaten Guy. You need both eyes to use Susanoo, that's the only reason Madara has not used it since he has been revived. There would have been nothing Gai could do against him if he had both eyes like come on black orbs plus a gargantuan perfect Susanoo as defense he would solo Guy easily.

Naruto beat Madara who was beaten by Gai and couldnt stand up. I think atm they are on par but Gai in gates can stay forever so Naruto would win. We cant expect anything less from main character.

-No Creation of all things.
-No Genjutsu ( Gai suck at Genjutsu )
-No Limbo Hengoku.

PS : A crippled Uzumaki ( Nagato ) destroyed a village with Shinra Tensei , now take the original possessor of that Rinnegan who is pomped with the most powerful SM ( beside Hagorom's SM) and who has a near perfect Juubi , and then imagine how powerful his version of Shinra Tensei would be.
Same thing goes with other Rinnegan Jutsus.

i say naruto wins this. had it not been for the help gai received against madara it may have not been the same outcome. but it still wont be easy for naruto. unlike madara though, naruto will actually use techniques that will most deff kill gai.
