you call yourself a gai fan yet you don't even understand his way of ninja.
his way is about youth,about life,being by his student's side and guide him and inspire him,that's why the 8th gate is always the last resort,even if he's cripple he'll find a way to watch over him and teach him,he still can persist as a teacher for the next generations,the power of youth is a way of life not just some push-ups.

Exactly what I think! Guy gave up his youth but that doesn't mean his life is over. Lee means a lot to him and as long as he still lives he will make sure Lee succeeds! As I said before, Guy treasured youth so much and by losing that, it was just as sacrificial as losing his life. It's still honourable.

That would be something i want to see but doubt it would happen. Student killing teacher in a shonen? unlikely but i'd love to see it happen.

nagato killed jiraiya and Orochimaru killed hiruzen, OBito killed/ set up Minato, sasuke Tried to kill Oro

There is a huge difference between those 'kills' and Gai asking Lee to take his life.

Nagato = "villain"
Orochimaru = "villain"
Obito = "Villain"

Lee = not a villain

Lee killing his own sensei to put him out of his misery is totally different.

I also know he had a resolve and i don't want it to get shat on just because Naruto is proven to be Jesus who can do anything he wants.
Being crippled was not a way of life for Lee and It's not for Gai either. He can't watch over him forever anyway.

Kid needs to grow up.

I do see your point. If Guy requested it Lee would go through with it most likely, but after making him survive the 8th gate I doubt Kishimoto would do it. With Naruto, Tsunade and Sakura's abilities I doubt Guy will be a permanent cripple.

That's a possibility.

Gai can't live on once he loses his nindo:

Naruto saving Gai's life does not guarantee him being in physical conditions to become a ninja.

I think Gai Will have a chance to live, but he will be crippled for the rest of his life. Then Lee says "that's not what he would want" and kill Gai (or stop the process).

That's sort of similar to how Gai told Lee to take the surgery with a risk of death.

What would you think if that happens?

This does seem a little too dark, especially for the likes of Guy and Lee. But if Guy does have to survive 8 Gates then Lee attempted a reversal of the part 1 hospital scenario would be appreciated. 'If you die here then i'll die right there alongside you Sensei' before Guy sets him straight with one more speech.

i see, growing lee into a splendid ninja is his priority, and his way of ninja too, if he lose his life, he won't be able to see lee growth.

1) that is way too gray of a theme
2) lee wouldn't have the nuts to kill his sensei
3) i bet gai would rather live to see lee become as strong as he can and fulfill the splendid ninja wish
4) it'll probly be just like chuunin exams where lee nearly died from surgery, tsunade will use some life giving jutsu to repair his body and give gai more time to mold lee

Lee isn't quite there yet and neither is Sakura, which is why both Guy and Tsunade are still kicking.

I guess I find it symbolic that Guy would lose his youth so Lee could keep his. Kind of like when he said the dead leaves from a tree would grow new ones in the Spring.

Dead leaves = Guy's youth
Spring blossoms = Lee's growth

An no one better call Guy old, he's my age! Lol

Naruto was not "there" yet when Jiraiya died.
I think teachers dying before seeing their students' prime is better as they need to grow on themselves.
Masters already Trust their students.

We can't compare Naruto since he was destined no matter what to become powerful. I kind of wish he was just an ordinary boy like Lee who was chosen by the sage, but it's all different now.

I agree about the dying, but even Kakashi was revived. It's obvious with the exception of Neji and maybe one more major character, no other major characters are dying.

It's just that I never saw Guy's death happening. The flashbacks of him learning the gates and Kakashi admitting he was better were not death flashbacks. His words to Lee were beautiful and touching but the longer he stayed alive (even Kakashi was surprised he was still alive) I had a feeling something was up. Then Naruto is suddenly awake right when Guy needs him? Also, the hype about the 8th gate made us expect his death too so I knew it wouldn't happen.

I want to say he still could die but Naruto insists he will live.

All this makes even an honor death request impossible.
