[Question] art of the month

So i've been looking into doing art of the month submissions. I read the rules but here is something i'm wondering:

1) Almost ALL of the winners are pencil drawings. Do i HAVE to do a pencil drawing? Or are other mediums capable of winning? Does it HAVE to be an accurate High fidelity drawing? or can more artsy abstract art win? does it HAVE to be visual art? I'm a pretty gifted musician, and i wouldn't mind uploading some recordings, or linking to music i've made.

2)Whats to stop me from uploading a picture someone else drew? Like what if i just google image searched and took an amazing drawing and submitted it? Some of these might have been answered in the faq, but i hate faq pages.

1. No, you can paint or do abstract as well. I don't think music is allowed.

2. Most likely you'd get caught (by Naruta or Yard probably) and get banned from art of the month forever.

I'm just saying that sounds incredibly hard to get caught. Hell, i could go the to the art department of my university and take a picture of the best piece i see. Also i forgot to add this to the thread.

When someone has a blue name and is a first place contest winner, does that include all contests INCLUDING art of the month?

If you want to be banned from the contest then I'd try that. There was a few people who took images from books, that was a good laugh.

Tin eye is alright and it's an option for if my first three method's fail. However it needs a lot more info.

1) It's a drawing contest, you use your hands (or whatever limb you prefer) to make something. The mediums you use can vary: pencils, charcoal, paintbrushes, ink etc. all of that is allowed. Music however does not fall under this contest. The only thing that sometimes causes problems are graphic tablets as it's not allowed to digitally edit your artworks.

2) What stops you from bashing a mod or posting porn on the forums? If you do it and you get caught, you will be punished. It's difficult to say how many people actually won while having a ripped artwork and not never got caught, but I can guarantee you that many people have been caught along the way with curtsies of the NB Bloodhound Art Squad. This month 2 people have been DQ from posting a ripped artwork in the submission thread and one DQ during the voting last month. Depending on the severity and frequency of the ripping, the punishment will be more severe.
