How did they become Chunnin?

Always wondered about this, how did Sakura become Chuunin when 3 team members are needed to enter the Chuunin exams? Naruto was training with Jiraiya and Sasuke was a rogue, same with Ino and Chouji, Shikamaru was already a Chunnin.

Did you read the part where Shikamaru didn't even win yet got promoted because the council thought he was ready? Keeping the balance of power just meant holding the exams in different villages.

I have a hard time seeing Sakura + Ino + Chouji passing Chuunin Exams during time skip. They were still fodder at that juncture bar Chouji but he needed dangerous pills to be truly great.

Which basically/ logically thinking means you just have to show that you are good enough, dont need to go through an exam. Did Itachi go through the exam? I doubt it

I love when people are wrong and then ask questions that aren't even answered in the manga as proof that manga facts are wrong because they speculate over things that weren't covered and pull dumbshit ideas into the mix like Itachi not passing the chuunin exam
